Subj: Looking for Volunteers on the Porch Tonight! (1/28)

The following missive has been privately distributed throughout the Landing, to various inhabitants within:

For the purposes of some informal but time-sensitive research, the Order of the Shadow (and associates) are looking for any creative individuals willing to briefly volunteer some combination of expertise, time, ingenuity, or possibly their bodies… for science!

We’re looking for any combination of the following:

? Persons with knowledge of hematology, anatomy, and various other blood-related studies.

? Persons with knowledge of Elementalism and elemental energy, particularly knowledge of the Elemental Confluence and plinite.

? Persons who have had zero exposure to the Confluence, and minimal exposure to other forms of elemental saturation, in particular as it pertains to a plethora of plinite.

? Persons who have had a great deal of exposure to plinite and plinite derivatives, such as those who venture into the Confluence frequently to collect and handle plinite.

? Persons with knowledge of alchemical theory, properties, and interactions.

? Persons with knowledge of various forms of analytical magic detection.

? Persons with large muscles and sharp swords to stand by in the unlikely event that anything should go terribly, terribly awry… not that it will, or anything.

? Persons who just like to watch things, converse, and speculate.

If you are interested, do feel free to join me on the Hearthstone porch on this fine Feastday evening at around the 11th hour for some informal analysis and experimentation. Due to the somewhat unusual nature of the sample we’ll be working with, results are in no way guaranteed to be conclusive, but I — of course — welcome any opinions, conjecture, or peer review on the topic(s).

FURTHER DETAILS: Having recently come into possession of a blood sample allegedly drawn from Grand Magister Dennet Kestrel‘s ailing wife, Reannah, we are looking to independently verify A) the origin of the blood, which is still unconfirmed, B) any further details about the patient’s developing pathology, C) the etiology of the plinite within the blood sample, i.e. if it is the underlying cause of the condition, a benign side-effect of the alleged treatment, or potentially existing in comorbidity with the condition, and D) any further side-effects (either short or long-term) of plinite exposure, including verifying its potential as a theoretic treatment for malignancies and blood poisoning.

The subject’s reported diagnosis includes both mental and physical symptoms of varying degrees of severity, ranging from disorientation and possible mild dementia to fever, fatigue, and lymphatic abscesses with substantial traces of blood.

Also, snacks may or may not be provided upon request.
