Who wants to weave bracelets and necklaces out of flowers and foliage when you can use teeth instead? A new item debuting at the shop “Tooth and Claw” will let you do just that by letting you harvest various types of Weaveable teeth from different creatures around Elanthia.

Introducing the “toothkey” (AKA “pelican”). This metal instrument includes a “claw” that gets hooked around the interior side of a chosen tooth and then winched tightly against a “bolster” that rests against the opposite side as a fulcrum. A quick twist of the item’s handle and, with only limited amounts of blood and discomfort, you can extract Weaveable teeth from specific types of dead creatures.

Players have teeth, as well, you say? Unlock your toothkey with a provided certificate and you can extract a tooth from another player (with CONSENT) 1x a day.

If you’re just interested in doing extra fluffy actions that let you roleplay investigating another player’s teeth (or even just investigating a dead creature’s teeth), there is another certificate that will let you unlock some more actions.

Quick Facts (Creatures)
OTS toothkeys can extract Weaveable teeth from dead creatures.
Each creature can be extracted from once and each extraction yields a bundle of two (2) Weaveable teeth.
If fluff actions are unlocked, you can perform a roleplayed dental exam on the dead creature’s mouth/teeth.
Creatures can have up to four (4) types of teeth, but each creature may not have all types: tooth, canine tooth (or fang), incisor, and molar (or carnassial).
Teeth from different creatures may look different with a plethora of descriptors available.
You can toggle whether the creature’s name shows in the created tooth with PUSH.
Currently there are 79 valid creatures around Elanthia that can have their teeth extracted. Valid creatures are animal-like, have bones/teeth, and feasibly have teeth small enough that they would fit on a necklace.

Quick Facts (Players)
Unlocked toothkeys can extract teeth from another player (with CONSENT) 1x a day.
OTS and unlocked toothkeys can roleplay a dental exam with another player (with CONSENT) and can do all unlocked fluff actions while investigating inside their mouth.
Extraction yields one (1) Weaveable tooth.
Extraction WILL stun and injure the target player.

You analyze your iron pelican and sense that the creator has provided the following information:
— Tooth Extracter —
This iron pelican is an instrument designed to extract teeth from certain dead creatures.
If unlocked, player teeth can also be extracted once a day (with consent).
Extracted teeth/fangs can be used in the Weaving system.
==Alteration Guidelines==

The 15/15/15, long, and show of this iron pelican can be freely altered as long as they follow all guidelines.
The only approved nouns for this pelican are “pelican” or “toothkey”.
These instruments include a hooked “claw” that slips around the tooth, a “bolster” that rests against the opposite side of the tooth as a fulcrum, and a handle that is usually ring-shaped. The Elanthian versions additionally include a small crank to tighten the claw against the bolster.
The claw should be made of metal and can have a custom material and custom descriptor.
The handle can be made of anything hard (metal, wood, bone, porcelain, mother-of-pearl, etc.) and can have a custom material and a custom descriptor.
Any merchant comfortable with this script can change the custom settings, but these should generally be changed to match the alteration.
==Features==

Extract Weaveable Creature Teeth/Fangs
POINT the iron pelican at an appropriate dead creature, TURN to select the tooth you want, and then PULL to extract the tooth.
POINT the iron pelican with no target to clear the selection.
Each creature extraction gives you a bundle of 2 teeth that can be used in the Weaving system. Each creature can only be extracted from once.
Different creatures will have different-looking teeth. Possible types of teeth: tooth, canine tooth (or fang), incisor, molar (or carnassial). Not all creatures have all types.
The adjective of the created tooth will be the creature’s name, but you can toggle this appearing by using PUSH on the iron pelican.
Extract Player Teeth [Unlocked]
Once a day you can extract a Weaveable tooth from a player using the same method as is used for creatures.
The player must be alive and must give CONSENT. This action will injure and stun them.
This will give you only a single tooth.
Fluff Actions [Tier 2 of 2]
Extra fluff actions let you perform examinations on player or creature teeth so you are better able to diagnose any potential dental issues. Rooting around in a player’s mouth, even without extracting a tooth, requires CONSENT.
At this tier, your iron pelican captures:
POINT (targeted – select a player/creature to examine), POINT (untargeted – clear any current selection), TURN (switch to a different tooth type of the current target), PUSH (toggle whether adjective appears in created tooth), PULL (extract currently selected tooth), POKE (targeted/untargeted), PINCH (targeted/untargeted), PONDER (targeted/untargeted), CLEAN.==Current Settings==
Claw Material: iron
Claw Descriptor: bloodstained
Handle Material: bone
Handle Descriptor: bleached
