RUMOR WOODS NEWS: A new shop at Rumor Woods, Tiu & Qaiteke, opened up with saddles for lizard mounts. This Tehir merchant arrived with little fanfare, but obvious joy in their craftsmanship.

from Official GemStone IV Discord #event-announcements channelAmid the afternoon bustle at Rumor Woods, the arrival of a new merchant group along one of the quieter stretches of the caravan trail went largely unremarked upon.
Although not a word was spoken as the Tehir unloaded their wares — wide, metal ring-pommeled “nakaten” with fan-tailed cantles — from an array of lizards and arranged them along ropes suspended over bright lapis and ruby-toned rugs, the camaraderie in their interactions and bursts of carefree laughter amidst flurries of hand signals bespoke a casual joy to their work. Soon enough, a tent of bleached hides ensconsed their goods, and as they silently slipped away beyond sight of the trail, the one who remained behind pulled back the flaps of the tent to indicate that Tiu & Qaiteke was, at last, open for business.
[Tiu & Qaiteke is a Rumor Woods shop that sells saddles, referred to as “nakaten,” for lizard mounts. In Tehir, “nakaten” is the word for saddle, and “nakatela” refers to Tehir-styled saddle blankets.
