on #ebon-gate channelAs we move into merchant week I wanted to share the rules on adding patterns to the Blacksmith’s Companions.
Blacksmith’s Companions hold patterns that blacksmiths study so they can apply them to their weapons using a grinder in a workshop. They are not magical. Patterns are meant to be decorative. In some cases they may contain common materials. Examples of common materials found in a pattern could be steel, silver, gold, bone, wood, sapphire, or even diamond. This assumes all blacksmiths can easily obtain these materials in their workshops.
Absolutely nothing considered rare or special can be added to a pattern. Magical metals or woods, rare or unique gems, or materials specific to events are not allowed. The intent of these books is to give blacksmiths more cosmetic options for their projects, not to give anyone unlimited rare material alters. Thank you for respecting these rules.
