However, as he had said previously, they’d procured one of Michol’s belongings for the group to use for tracking him down with the help of Winston, the bloodhound.-Winston picked up the scent and led the group to the outpost, through the outpost, on a quick detour to the kitchen for ham, and finally through a crevice that led to Lake Eonak before wandering off. Also of note, the group briefly saw a robed figure at the outpost, but much later that night Raelee said it was the Grand Magister.
-Naimorai emerged from Lake Eonak at a distance, but then met with the group to talk. (Why swim or bathe in the chilly winter? It turns out that she’s attuned to ice. The cold never bothered her anyway.)
-She confirmed–from what Rysus had said previously, though the group didn’t tell her the source when asking–that she had been arguing with Michol the morning of his disappearance. She said the dispute was about how he was upset she kept leaving behind his guards, but that she had said at the time that if anything, as a Kestrel, she should be guarding them. She said that she didn’t like the tone he used with her that morning, was rude after a while, and grabbed her arm, but that she didn’t fault him for being overprotective and he meant well.
-Shinann mentioned aloud what many were probably thinking: that it seems inconsistent with what’s known of Sir Michol to have done such a thing, especially after throwing a feast in the family’s honor. Naimorai’s response: “Would it be the first time a man has surprised you uncharacteristically?”
-Crux joked that it must be the Rooks kidnapping for ransom; Leafiara missed that it was a joke and said that couldn’t be true because then they should have gotten a ransom notice when Rysus met with them; Naimorai expressed surprise that a known criminal had stood among them but hadn’t been apprehended; Rowmi said that known criminals stood among them now.
-Naimorai said her mother is in high spirits and is speaking of meeting with others and that her father has said “soon enough.”
