Mayor Sends Letter to Council about Blood Test Results re: Cyph

The Landing’s Mayor sent a letter to the Town Council about the findings of a vial of blood. The results? Some as expected, some surprising! Steam open the letter and read for yourself on the Officials: (I *never* encouraged you to do this!)

A sealed letter, duplicated and delivered to the Town Council and certain other parties, reads as follows:

To Whom It May Concern,
On the evening of Feastday the 22nd, myself and several other gracious volunteers performed some preliminary groundwork experiments upon the vial of blood donated to me by Grand Magister Dennet Kestrel. Kindly assisting were Lisbethany, Sareyna, Aleid, Martyle, and Ferghal, with Captain Shinann and Kayse watching on to ensure no undue impropriety given the somewhat “unorthodox” nature of the methods used. Some unfortunate but ultimately necessary discomfort was experienced, but I’m sure that Shinann can confirm that no lasting harm was done and that all were willing volunteers.
The results of the initial portion of the experiment were as predicted: the blood sample, when compared to a previous self-collected sample, did indeed belong to Cyph. Further comparative tests of samples collected from Reannah and Naimorai (mother and sibling, respectively) showed an expected familial match with a greater hereditary match between mother and daughter (due to selective factors of gender parity), also as expected.
However, the study diverged from the expected when I attempted to narrow down and confirm Cyph’s own familial match; in short, the results were inconclusive and bore an abnormally high margin of error. Without going into abstruse technical detail, this has led me to postulate that the obscurity of Cyph’s ancestry is due to the fact that one of Cyph’s two ancestral contributors is either not among those we tested, or has less commonality than expected with the trace elements of Dennet‘s biological signatures I compared it to from memory. While this by no means conclusively proves whether the absentee donor is matroclinous or patriclinous, my inclination is to presume that either Dennet is not the father, as the evidence hints at given the variation of results, or that Reannah is not Cyph’s actual biological mother.
Another matter of potential concern pertains to one of our citizens, Hapenlok. It was reported to me by Chaoswynd, Azryen, and others that he was behaving strangely last evening (more so than usual), and that a yet-unidentified sinister force may have been attempting to penetrate his mind; no one appears to have been harmed in the incident, but given his past history of being manipulated by the Witch Raznel, we will continue to monitor the situation.
Signed and Sealed,
Cruxophim, Mayor of Wehnimer’s Landing

[OOC NOTE: While this is a private letter, I’m sure it would be fine to assume that given the casual nature and lack of effort toward secrecy vis-à-vis the above events, the “rumor mill” has already established these topics as common knowledge… so feel free to take it as IC information.]
