Mayor Lylia Requests of Merchants: One Price, One Landing
Mayor Lylia’s first request of the business people in the Landing is out – a strongly worded proposal to remove the additional prices charged to some because of their race. ONE PRICE, ONE LANDING.

Clipped to it is another note in the same hand with a list of shopkeepers’ names.Merchants and innkeepers, I must alert you to a theft.
The thievery has been going on for years, even for human generations. Some of our citizens have lost fortunes already, and yet it continues daily. It has cost untold millions of silvers, and as the town’s new mayor, I intend to put a stop to it. But you may not thank me for it, for the thieves in this case — however unknowingly or inadvertently — are you.
For as long as I have lived here, you have charged me more for less because I am Faendryl, and you have been open about it. The Dhe’nar have been likewise robbed, and even some gnomes. Half-krolvin such as Meureii must pay even more for ordinary services. “The way things are done,” I have heard, or “that merchant does it too,” or “we have to make money somehow.” You may continue to earn your silvers, certainly; we all want prosperity for our beloved Wehnimer’s Landing. You may do it at a fair price, however, and not take it from the coin-purses of those you call neighbors. Henceforth, let there be equitable trade for all our citizens and visitors.
The people have spoken, and their mayor is Faendryl. The time for such blind and benighted prejudice is past. How may we move from the darkness of superstitious dread and into the light of knowledge if the town’s own mayor is shadowed by it?
This is a cordial request as I understand that most of you have not intentionally sought harm to me or mine, nor to the Dhe’nar, nor to others who have borne this financial burden for decades. Because I understand it is “the way things were done,” I do not seek recompense for all we have lost. This is my gift to you. Other gifts you may expect include increased custom for shopkeepers who honor this proposal, a greater selection of exotic trade goods to sell, and the satisfaction that comes with moving our town forward to a grander future.
My own family includes traders, so I am well acquainted with the need to charge what the market will bear, but I assure you: This market cannot bear the stain of theft much longer. Let us begin today, together, to right this wrong.
— Lylia Rashere Faendryl, Mayor of Wehnimer’s Landing
I sense the delightful aroma of economic justice brewing, for one and all!
Hoozah, Mayor Lylia!
