King Qalinor Vaalor’s public audience report

Brief notes from the public audience of His Majesty King Qalinor Vaalor, the Sovereign Commander of the Crimson Legion:

In the primary matter of the audience, the Erithian monk of the Volnath Dai was heard, and after pleasantries were exchanged, His Majesty granted the monk’s petition for residency, provided the Order of Voln supports it.

The White Wyverns, the airshipselves of the Crimson Legion, are still investigating the theft of the Dawn Rose. While His Majesty wants to see the ship’s return, he will neither seek nor accept any aid from those in the west that oppress Elves or “those of partial Elven descent”.

Further, he welcomes any refugee who faces persecution in the West, provided they follow the laws of Ta’Vaalor.

This elf would also like to remind all guests that while His Majesty King Qualinor Vaalor, the Sovereign Commander of the Crimson Legion, can be relaxed on protocol, this is not an invitation to disrespect. Those readers planning to attend a public audience of his, of one of his court members, or of any court of the United City-States are strongly encouraged to seek out education on proper decorum lest they embarrass themselves.

There’s been a new Voln NPC in Ta’Vaalor, an Erithian monk of the Volnath Dai for a little while now and it looks like he’ll be permanent. Think the warrior in the landing. Look for “a robed erithian monk” wandering around. If you’re running StromFront, he has a pile of questions you can ASK him about; I have only scratched the surface.

Refugees are welcome but gotta carry papers like everyone else.

NPCs in attendance:

Tall and slender, the monk is clearly out of place among the locals. Dressed in humble robes, the only obvious adornment, a medallion bearing a white nautilus shell on a shield of black, hangs loosely around his neck. Watery, pale grey eyes shine like deep pools of wisdom from an ageless face, while a single shock of steel grey hair hangs down his back from the braided topknot atop his head.

He is tall and appears to be in the prime of life. He has dark-rimmed green eyes and fair skin. He has very short, amber hair. He has a classical nose and narrow pointed ears.

He is wearing a simple electrum circlet, a wyvern pin, a dark gold wool capelet, a dark crimson jacket with a golden wyvern embroidered on the left breast, an eahnor wyvern badge, a suit of vaalorn plate and mail with a dark gold quilted gambeson underneath, a gold-bound scarlet sheath, a gold-bound crimson silk scabbard decorated with a ferocious eahnor wyvern, and a pair of dark leather boots cuffed at the knee.

He is shorter than average and appears to be old. He has almond-shaped milky white eyes and bronze skin. He has cropped, steel grey hair. He has an angular face and sharp pointed ears.

He is wearing a dark crimson jacket adorned at the shoulders with gold braid tied into six knots of rank, a dark gold wool capelet, an eahnor wyvern badge, a suit of vaalorn plate and mail with a dark gold quilted gambeson underneath, a gold-bound scarlet sheath, and a pair of dark leather boots cuffed at the knee.

He appears to be an Elf.
He is average height and appears to be old. He has jade green eyes and copper skin. He has shoulder length, grey hair. He has a bony face, a long nose and high cheekbones.
He is in good shape.
He is wearing a gold-trimmed dark eahnor aegis, a dark crimson jacket adorned at the shoulders with five gold braid knots, a billowing crimson cape, a pair of dark vaalorn gauntlets, an eahnor wyvern badge, a polished crimson vaalorn breastplate trimmed with a wide gold-leafed band, a wide dark leather belt with a shiny gold buckle, a gold-bound scarlet sheath, some ruddy scarlet leather pants, and a pair of dark leather boots cuffed at the knee.

According to the Symbol of Recognition, none of the elves are Voln members, so there’s probably no vast Voln conspiracy going on here.
