Elementalists to Meet to Explore Protective Barriers for Landing Defenses

Hapenlok puts out an open call for elementalists to meet and confer to protect town defenses tonight at 11pm in Town Square, Landing. He’s specifically addressing those who can cast Elemental Barrier, spell number 430. but everyone is welcomed to come.

I, Hapenlok, Member of Militia and Mage of the Flame Do Hereby issue the following open call to all Elementalists, be it Wizards, Hybrid spellcasters such as Bards or Sorcerers and Spellcasting Warriors who have the ability to cast the Elemental protective spell known to us as “Elemental Barrier”

The reason for this request is to confer with my colleagues as to the feasibility into a group effort into protecting our roof-top defenses and/or the pylons from attacks such as we experienced weeks ago. Quite frankly, time is of the essence, friends, We do not have the time required to construct a set of wards for all of our defenses, such as Grand Magister Dennet has done for the Outpost, work that started with his inital arrival here.

I do believe this to be a feasible undertaking, but not without risks. Which is why i request that anyone willing and able to lend aid, meet with me on the morrow, around Eleven as the crow flies,

Considering the alternative, to have our defenses not protected, i do believe that this may be a necessary act.

(OOC Note: Consider this message to have been delivered by Wyrdling to Raelee in the outpost, Bekke in Hearthstone, Councilman Pylasar, the Archmage Pherntyr, and Captains Stormyrain and Shinann….and posted upon every major gathering spot in town and outside.)

(Below the poster, as if written as an afterthought)

It occurs to me, that while groups of us are going to be doing the casting, that any interested parties who can manipulate any amount of mana, may also be required to channel to those of us doing our work, if it is to be performed. so anyone who is interested, regardless of their knowledge of the elemental spheres will be welcomed and encouraged to attend.

Hapenlok,

While I do think a piece of this is feasible, we have been told the pylons can be a risk because of the magic connected to them. I say, pick one area to set up wards, but know this. If pylons will draw attention, then a huge flux of magic will draw attention and make the casters targets. Unless you have a way to set a ward and leave. I am not well versed in magical wards, except feeling the rejection of many I’ve tried to enter.

Feel free to share my thoughts.

OOC: She never once said don’t do it. She was giving input. She could order Hapenlok not to pursue any of this, but I don’t let her work that way.

Also, what is “perpetual ignorage”?

I did leave out of my original letter that you cannot do this at the pylons.

perpetual ignorage is a dilbert comic strip reference, because i was totally zonked out after my coffee wore off. and i was trying to be witty and funny. and probably failed at both.

It refers to a gag they did regarding Wally’s Pile of Perpetual Ignorage. it wasn’t meant as a slap at you.

I make these movie/comic/pop culture references, and i realize that people have no <Censored>ing clue what in the hell i’m talking about. 🙂 they’re either too young, or …..the other extreme.
