Candidates for Landing Town Council and Their Credentials

GM Kenstrom gives us the candidates for the Town Council opening and their credentials. There will be a public debate between the candidates where we can ask questions in the next week or two, then the Mayor and Judge Renpaw make the appointment. Subj: Candidates for Landing Town Council!

The New Year is upon us! Happy New Year everyone!

There’s already a lot in the works and the plotting has begun!

First up…Town Council! With Surofee resigning to spend more time with the orphans of the Wellington home, that opens up a spot on the town council! The position is Steward of the Coffers, so basically, town treasurer.

I will be posting the NPC candidates below and some brief information about them. (Sorry, only NPC council members at this time.) In the coming weeks I will hold 1 or 2 debate nights, where players can sign up and ask questions of any or all of the candidates. Ultimately, Mayor Cruxophim gets to select a candidate, and then Judge Renpaw (NPC) approves, and voila.

The debates will probably happen this weekend, or next weekend, and I’d like to finalize the Council spot before end of January.

Here’s the candidates!

Malluch Burdos
Malluch is the son of Murdos Burdos, the owner and operator of the gemshop in Wehnimer’s Landing. He is not shy about being handsome, and it’s no secret he is more committed to himself than the adoring women who can be seen on his arm from time to time. He was born and raised in Wehnimer’s Landing, but his parents sent him to the Turamzzyrian Empire for four years, where he studied at a lesser college in Nydds, which was all his family could afford. It’s said he is respected among local merchants, which is his primarily claim as to wishing to be selected by a town council position. It’s also no secret that his father, while he had hoped for loftier goals than a town councilman, is still proud of the young man he has raised. Malluch recently returned to Wehnimer’s Landing shortly after the War of Shadows. After the defeat of Chaston and his army of Blameless, Malluch returned to Nydds for several months and is said to have finished some more studies while there, but in what field is uncertain. He returned again to Wehnimer’s Landing in the summer of 5117 and has become more involved in his father’s business.

Alendrial DeArchon
Alendrial DeArchon is married to Stephos DeArchon, who is a wanted fugitive for his crimes against the Turamzzyrian Empire during the War of Shadows. Since then, Stephos and Alendrial have both returned to Wehnimer’s Landing after aiding persecuted half-elves who had wished to escape Chaston and his army of Blameless. Recently, both Stephos and Alendrial have been pardoned for any past crimes against Wehnimer’s Landing, and have pledged their support in repairing any burnt bridges. While there are few in town who do not loathe Stephos, many still warmly speak of Alendrial, as more often than not she was a victim in all of her husbands crimes.

Granthem
Granthem washed up with a shipwreck on the Black Sands over two years ago, having no recollection of his life save for only a few months where he spent time working at the docks in Vornavis. He was greeted by the adventurers of Wehnimer’s Landing with great caution as he appeared to look exactly like one of their enemies, Grishom Stone. It was later discovered that Granthem was perhaps a flesh golem, but with no memories and no proof of wrongdoing or ill intent, he was taken in by some adventurers in town and even setup with residence in House Phoenix. Since then, Granthem has become a Landing citizen, learned various combat skills and works in a minor role in the treasury of House Phoenix.

Larton
Larton is the local locksmith of Wehnimer’s Landing who has owned and operated his shop for decades in town. While not ever letting go of his business, he also fully intends to be able to do the job of councilman as well if selected. He has years of experience managing a successful business, despite many adventurers who claim his prices are too high, but they keep coming back. Larton claims he has an eye for finances and can help ensure a prosperous future for Wehnimer’s Landing.

Edwina
Edwina is Larton’s ex-wife, and when she got wind of him running for town council, she knew she had to throw her hat into the mix. She has operated out of Larton’s shop for years, repairing broken lockpicks at an arguably fair price. Once a beautiful barmaid, she is still feisty, and has promised to utilize her ability to repair her husband’s mistakes and apply that to fixing the economy of Wehnimer’s Landing and helping the town to see a new age of wealth.

Cutlass
Cutlass is the half-krovlin owner of the Bait Shop near the middle docks of town. He has made it no secret that he was once a pirate captain, but claims his experience at sea makes him an ideal candidate to help oversee the treasure of the town. As a captain, he was always mindful of his ships loot and expenses, and properly resourcing all funds to both the ship and crew. He claims there isn’t much difference between piracy and politics and he thinks he can help the town manage their finances successfully.
