Branding Iron Reduction based on first aid
Branding Irons get a decreased RT based on the wielder’s First Aid skill.

If the whole point to them is field expedient quasi-healing, the high RT’s make them rather impractical for that (especially since every hunting area doesn’t contain a “safe room”). The fact that they don’t actually heal the wounds, combined with the requirement to use them multiple times for multiple wounds should be a sufficient balancing factor.
We’re looking into it and will post back here when we know either which way.

Just following up: there is a little bit of decrease in the RT now, based around the brand wielder’s First Aid ranks. The RT is still randomly selected, with a minimum of 10 seconds, but the max possible RT (60 seconds) can be decreased by 1 second per First Aid rank, up to the 40th rank. Someone with no First Aid training will still get the classic random RT between 10 and 60 seconds; someone with 20 ranks will sit between 10 and 40 seconds; 40 ranks would sit between 10 and 20 seconds.
