There’s a move afoot to petition for a shrine to Cholen around Wehnimer’s. They didn’t call it a petition, but we’re going to turn it into one! At the officials:

GM Kenstrom and Other followers of Cholen (or those interested in our type of worship),
Barble and Ylandra as well as some other fans of Cholen have been searching for options for a permanent shrine to Cholen in the Landing. Several of us who worship Cholen thought it would be appropriate to raise funds and engage in efforts to have a room/location/shrine dedicated to Cholen built in a publicly accessible area in the landing. Not a House, just some form of attached room with a celebratory spin that we could pay for and have erected. He is a social guy so having something off in the guild just isn’t enough.
We would like it to be some place appropriate…such as over or attached to a tavern or dance hall. We would be fine with having it set over an existing structure.
Is this a project that there is a mechanism for pursuing?
We understand cost, and time are always a factor. But if it’s possible, we would like to know how to go about kick-starting it.
We did consider CHEs etc…but as Cholen is everyone’s lord of festivities…we thought it more appropriate it be near/in a public or at least semi-public place. We have more detailed ideas but figure we should find out how to even et started before we go further.

Haha this mayor has passed on ylandra request a few times. Its up to the GM on this but in my opinion the way they are going about it is the correct way

A CHE or an MHO could conceivably still do what you want, actually. CHE’s can request Annexes which don’t necessarily have to be closed to non-members, and MHO’s which have not yet set up structures or are up for grounds expansions can do this as well. For example the pub in Moonshine Manor is open to the public. For CHE’s this would cost IPs earned through events, for MHO’s it’s a silver cost.
Just something to consider!

I hope the other events in the landing don’t overwhelm this request…really looking for a reasonable starting point and some support to get moving! We will bring the people and the money and the PARTY…just need a tad bit of direction and GM support to get the ball rollin.

I personally wouldnt wait on a GM. Start doing events.nightly or weekly prayer. Events for the poor. What ever. Do the rp grow a group and conti ue to show a proper following. Getting a GM attention through rp will have more impact then a few post.

There’s no current plans to build a Cholen shrine, and certainly Landing events are not taking away from this. One, I can never guarantee something is built. Secondly, a lot of the things I’ve done over time, are in response to high demand and activity by players. Unfortunately something like this isn’t “build it, they will come.” More like, if they keep coming, maybe it’ll get built type of things. I would recommend if you truly wish a higher presence of Cholen in the area, then look into holding events, recruiting others, planning things to honor him, and who knows what’ll happen in time. But just raising in-game silvers unfortunately is not usually the formula for something to be built. I’d also personally recommend you look into founding a Cholen-themed MHO. That’s a big part of why that system exists, and allows structures to be built. The structures are a reward for a pattern of consistent community and events.

I fully support this idea — Landing
should have as many diverse shrines as it can, so keep at it… you never know!
If you want a reliable course of action, I would also highly recommend the MHO route; it’ll definitely take a lot of long-term dedication, but your persistence will almost certainly pay off in the long run. You could use host parties, feasts, dances, theater, or whatever as events to promote your MHO, which seems fitting for a Cholen-based organization. I mean, they practically write themselves!

Since MHO structures are (I think) multiple rooms, you could also team up with some Zelians who like similar fun, as I don’t believe there’s a Zelia shrine in the Landing, either… although, I suppose one could argue that the entire town is a shrine to Zelia. :3
