Some of this may be a repeat from other posts, but I wanted to put info all together. Don’t forget to check out https://gswiki.play.net/Origami.
Unlocking the origami skill at the first level: 1,000 raikhen
Additional skill level unlocks will be cheaper.
You must practice some in order to be ready to ask the origami master for more training and unlock the next skill level. There are six total skill levels.
Pattern Cost: Patterns are sold individually so you can collect them all or pick and choose what you want. The first level (unskilled) offers patterns at 10 raikhen. The others go up a bit, as they are more intricate, but they are reasonably priced.
Origami Paper: 75 raikhen for 1 stack of 25 sheets. Each sheet has 5 folds before it is too worn to be used for origami (you can still write on it)
Adding Paper: You can buy more of the exact same type and PUSH PAPER to combine them, OR you can purchase “unlocks” in increments of 1, 25, and 50 at the same cost per page as buying the stack. 500 is the max # of sheets.Origami Kits:
An OTS kit is 400 raikhen
–it weightlessly holds up to 3 different origami paper looks (so buy paper and PUSH KIT to add it to an empty slot). You can either use the paper unlocks above to add sheets to a selected stored stack OR you can buy another identical stack and push it into the same slot. 500 is still the max in each of the 3 slots.
–you can put origami-related items inside, like a normal container
–unlocking the kits = 200 raikhen each. The first unlock will bind the kit to the account (there is a warning/confirmation). Each unlock has fluff verb messaging on the kit AND paper that has been STORED in the kit will have the same tier as the box it was pulled from. If you pull out a STACK of paper, it WILL be account-bound and have the unlocked tiers.
If you pull out an individual sheet of paper (from an account-bound kit or stack), it will NOT be account-bound and it WILL have the unlocked tiers.
Fluff messaging adds a lot of extra zest to your objects, and each verb trap has different messaging depending on whether or not it is a stack of paper, a sheet of paper, a sheet of paper with a quill in hand, or a folded origami object. And if it’s a folded origami object, you’ll get different messaging if you are an erithi, a burghal gnome, or a Nalfein (elf or half-elf).And a followup from her a bit later on Discord:

from Official GemStone IV Discord #rumor-woods channelYou will have the option of training right there with the origami master, but you can also request she give you a paper certificate, so you can use it after (or gift it to someone who can use it).
Same with patterns…if you aren’t skilled enough for her to teach you the pattern, you can request to buy it and get a cert that you can activate once you’ve trained up to it.
