How much do you know or remember of Elanthian Lore? Do you know all the hidden places and secret treasures that can be found with just a little bit of searching? This contest runs from now until July 31, 2025. It will task team leaders, who must be SimuCon 2025 attendees, with finding these hidden treasures and mailing them to GM Thandiwe in a sack in-game.
Points will be awarded to those who complete the task the quickest and with the most tasks completed. You may create a team of 5 (including yourself, so 4 other players) of adventurers who did not attend Con. When you submit your sack, please send a separate letter with the names of those on your team. The prize will be sent to the winners, and your name will be posted on message boards around Elanthia.

Now that the contest is over, I’ll be posting the answers with tiny tidbits of lore for those interested that may not know what these things are or how to get them. How many do you know?
SPOILERS BELOW, for those of you playing along at home, read no further.
· Gift of a God in Firestone.
Every Cleric’s Guild has a publicly accessible shrine. If you look at the statue in that Shrine you can see that there are bits of gemstone (specific kinds) imbedded into it. When you DROP that gemstone on either the alter, the offering bowl, or simply in the room, there is a 1-in-3 chance that you will get a specialized gemstones back as a gift. Eonak’s Shrine in Teras Isle actually has two that can be returned to you. The one in particular that I was interested in was: a rectangular hammer-engraved Firestone
· Honey from the First Apiary.
Back somewhere between 1999 and 2000, Premium Homes were introduced. Several neighborhoods were created and the very first Apiary was built. You can find it in Wehnimer’s Landing in the Hummingbird Pond Neighborhood. There is a Beehive Hill where you can ORDER a golden honeycomb. This is a unique honeycomb because it is scripted differently from other food items. We would later go on to use this script for what bear’s find.
· Eorgina’s Key.
Li’aerion, the palace of Eorgina, is located atop the Dragonspine Mountains with the entrance found in the Ruby Tunnel of Zul Logoth. Sometime in 2015, this was opened up via a storyline. Without giving away any game secrets, there is a way to obtain a heavy iron key. This is Eorgina’s Key.
· The Purple Heart
Perhaps not commonly known, but if you fight a Krag Dweller be sure to bring a blunt object with you because the only way to skin one of these is with a blunt weapon in your hand. It will yield a brilliant purple opal.
· Wine from one of Lorminstra’s Chosen.
Back in 1998, Castle Anwyn was rediscovered. Terate, one of Lorminstra’s Chosen, had just died during a storyline that locked the Vvrael away from our world. His story and connection to Castle Anwyn was discovered through the loresong of the weapon Krackenstar. There is a wineseller there, that if you TAKE from the rack, you get a bottle of red wine.
· The backroom antidote.
Back in 2005, Naos and Xayle created a poison that you could POUR into drinks and food. The poison was mostly messaging and had no mechanical benefits. They also sold an antidote with it. Come 2010 or 11, I was working with GM Lothwyn and introduced Plaitime and Talon, as well as their house in Market Bend. Part of that year’s project was cleaning up all the old food items in Solhaven that were on the old system. GMs Xayle and Naos, because the EG they had been sold at had been closed for so long, allowed me to sell one poison and one antidote each. You can find them in the backroom of Casey’s Club. The antidote is a small vial of lemon-scented liquid.
· The bookworm’s eggs.
This is a new one, though it is already five years old (much to my dismay). In Kraken’s Falls, there is a boarding house that is run by a young woman who wanders through the down stairs rooms. Upstairs are bedrooms. She is an avid reader and there are some funny things that she will tell you about one of the other NPCs in Kraken’s Fall. She can often be seen falling asleep on the stairs or reading her books and talking about them. On her cupboard is a bowl, where you can:
Taking a small hard boiled egg from the bowl, you lightly tap it on the surface of a long oak table until cracks begin to appear in its shell. You use your thumb and forefinger to brush away the fragments, which you then quickly collect and toss in a nearby disposal bin.

· Appease the Sea, one of three, where it nears the Desert.,
This one is brand new. In fact, I was concerned that my recent announcement of it before SimuCon would make it the easiest one to find. In Brisker’s Cove there is a Shrine to Leya, Niima, and Lorminstra that utilizes the special Cleric’s Guild offering script. If you drop a jacinth in the bowl at Niima’s feet, then you have a chance to be gifted a carved jacinth windflower.
· Make a bribe to get some soup.,
Okay, this one is super neat and not even something that I knew about until GM Ivry told me about it. You can go to the Honeybear Inn in Icemule Trace and BRIBE the NPC there to get a fiery burnt rice soup from their secret menu.
· The Frozen Heart
While Major Glacei’s can’t be skinned, you can plunge your hand into their chest (obtaining an injury) to gain their frozen heart. a clear blue gem
· The Shadowy Heart
Dark Vorteces are part of the creatures that wander the Broken Lands. They are magical and boss-like. Upon death, they may release a hazy tenebrous orb.
· The Stone Heart
Wandering around the Thanatoph, you’ll find stone mastiffs. I can’t remember how you obtain (so one of the people that got this one should chime in) but they yield a stone heart.
So, just like the Krag Dweller’s?
· The Fire Heart.
On Teras Isle, there are creatures in the Lava Flows called Skayls. When you search them, you can sustain a hand wound.
You break through the husk of the skayl and withdraw a heart of fine smooth glaes!
Suddenly, you realize that the smooth black glaes is steaming hot!
· Catch the Red Eye!,
We picked this because we thought it would be funny. Red Eye for those catching overnight flights to SimuCon and/or because of the Red Eyes they were going to wake up with after a night of socializing.
The Red Forest is a fun place to hunt. When you skin the monstrous direwolves, you get a red eye.
