Hello everyone! Autoperfumers are going to be receiving an update for Ebon Gate 2024. Starting tomorrow, I’ll be pushing out Autoperfumers 2.0. The update is a full rewrite of the Autoperfumer script and should alleviate a lot of the issues users have been having while allowing me to be more responsive to bugs/fixing issues. Current owners will be able to upgrade their autoperfumer by simply interacting with it using one of the verbs it supports (analyze, turn, pull, etc.). From that point on, it’ll be using the new and, hopefully, much better behaved script!
I was also able to incorporate a few upgrades as well:
Show has been removed in favor of pour for transferring perfumes into or out of the item, which hopefully eases confusion over use.
Knock and push/pull have been moved over to tinker and fidget and both now act as on/off toggles rather than having one toggle and the other require an on/off verb.
When a perfume wears off that wasn’t applied via the autoperfumer, the item will still activate and refresh your scent.
Finally! The restrictions on perfumes have been largely removed. The only restriction remaining is on T4 autoperfumers: when adding non-permanent bottles, the item will check to see if the bottle could be permified at the obelisk at EG. If the obelisk won’t permify it, neither will the autoperfumer. Beyond that, all other bottles may be added (e.g. you can now add custom perfumes that were done for other characters).
In addition, I’ve added a set of 6 roleplaying verbs to the item that can be unlocked via a vivid violet voucher available within the shop. As a sign of thanks and apology for the very long bug fix cycle, owners of a legacy autoperfumer will receive this upgrade free of charge when updating their autoperfumer to the new version.
This updated is currently live on the Test server if anyone would like to try out the new functionality.
