RUMOR WOODS PREVIEW: GM Xynwen announced an Origami Update that goes live with Rumor Woods! In addition to some under the hood, look for more ways to use it, new levels, glue, new patterns, and titles! One of those new levels will turn you into the teacher to others who are below the adept level.

With more thanks than I can even begin to express to GM Ethereal, I am happy to bring you an expansion to Origami. It involves some “beneath-the-hood” updates so I can look at different fun stuff going forward (like ways to use a folded object besides just folding and unfolding it), and two new (and probably final) training levels.
ORIGAMI GLUE: Unlocked when you reach Adept level in Origami, this will allow you to permanently affix your folded object. While there may not be a use case scenario for this yet, it is part of the updates needed for those future expansions. There is no additional cost or training needed for this — if you have Adept level or above already, or when you attain that level, you will have the ability to use ORIGAMI GLUE once these changes have been made live.
New Patterns: Several new patterns have been added for the various locales that sell them
New Level – Teacher: This level (the 9th) comes after Artist and will require a total of 18,000 folds (7,000 more after Artist) to reach. Until this is rolled live for Rumor Woods, your folds at Artist level won’t count toward it.
Cost: 10,000 event scrip (raikhen for RW)

Unique pre-name title: Origami Instructor
New pattern at unlock: an origami Rumor Woods
If someone has already unlocked the origami skill, someone at Teacher level can advance them to Basic, Proficient, and Advanced, using ORIGAMI TEACH.
New Level – Professor: This level (the 10th and probably last) comes after Teacher and will require a total of 25,000 folds (7,000 more after Teacher) to reach.
Cost: 25,000 event scrip (raikhen for RW)
Benefits:
Unique post-name title: Professor of Origami
Erithi, Nalfein, Nalfein half-elves, and burghal gnomes also get “Master of Intricate Patience” and “Master of the Folded Ways” post name titles
As a professor, you can initiate someone into the ways of origami (aka, unlocking the skill for them and setting them at Unskilled). In addition, you are able to advance people to Skilled and Adept levels. Any level above Adept will still require the Origami Master NPCs (or the purchased instructions from the NPC)

I’ve updated the main post, but: UPDATE TO FOLDING: We will update the max number of folds you can do in a day from 300 to 500, and you can do 150 in a row without the need for a break (increased from 30). This should go live sometime on Friday.
