Mana Disruption (702) Update – June 2024

UPDATE: GM Tago announced that the Mana Disruption spell (702) has a new trick! If the target has no spells, it will suffer a flare similar to what Dispel Flare items cause when they flare and find nothing to dispel.

Previously, if its dispel effect triggered but the target had no spells to dispel, the effect would be nullified. Now, in that same situation, the target will suffer a flare similar to what dispel flare items cause when they flare and find nothing to dispel. The formula determining the chance for the dispel effect in Mana Disruption (based on mana control ranks) has not changed. (There have been no changes to dispel flares on items).

This update is part of the sorcerer review (design proposal: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vFQcOJVAVCMLnXD8UksBBxgFJDJE4xMVXCdVmxXPFBk/edit). We will roll out additional updates as we complete them. As always, everything in the linked document is subject to change.
