ANNOUNCEMENT: GM Tivvy announced that since Energy Shields now only reactively flare when you are in an aggressive stance, there will be refunds to people who purchased one and are unhappy with this change. Please ASSIST by July 31, 2024, to start this process. If you are requesting a refund, you may also get any event/player services added to that shield applied to another eligible shield. Energy Shields, like all other shields, will only reactively flare when in an aggressive stance. Because there was some confusion about this requirement with Energy Shields in the past, we’re going to offer a refund to anyone that purchased one.
If you need to request a refund, please do so via an ASSIST in game. This ASSIST must be put in on or before July 31st, 2024.
Additionally, if you are requesting a refund, any event services or player services applied to your Energy Shield prior to today’s date (3/19/24) can be transferred to another eligible shield.

We’re not saying players were confused. When reactive shields were made possible, they were at parry levels of 50% or lower (neutral to offensive). There are some older systems that use 40% or 60% as well for other things. Energy shields didn’t have this line of code in accurately so it worked. In April 2023, it was resolved. I can’t say why it wasn’t announced or chatted about, likely due to it being a bug vs a feature.
