All towns except Kraken’s Fall have had some flufftastic adds to their citizenship pins. (KF folks, you were not left out — your pins were new and contained all this already!)
Pins will no longer disintegrate in the hands of a non-citizen. They just won’t have the special messaging.
New Verb Traps: Pinch, Poke, Push, Tickle
TAP trap updated to PAT
LOOK is hardcoded for the town
Updated ANALYZE for players
READ can be added, if you do not have it already. “Character, Citizen/Resident of Town”
River’s Rest can request “Character, Bona Fide River Rat”
Character name must be a confirmed citizen/partial citizen of the town
Pin cannot be altered other than the read above.
River’s Rest, just so you can see an example:
You put on a small tortoise shell pin.
>l my pin
An egg-shaped piece of polished tortoise shell provides the backing for this small pin, its surface scribed with the faded lines of the imperial seal. Rimming the front of the piece, a seawater-filled glass tube provides a watery home to a pair of tiny vessels rigged for full sail. Overreaching the glass are four ornate bridges that span from a cradled heart of Turamzzyrian diamond to a bold script that proclaims the bearer as an Elanthian misfit and proud citizen of River’s Rest.
>pat my pin
You tap your tortoise shell pin and set the tiny cutter racing against the imperial man-o-war. The smuggler is victorious and races safely ahead. You are fondly reminded of home.
>pinch my pin
With the precision of a tiny crab grasping its prey, you pinch one end of your tortoise shell pin’s glass tube, causing one tiny ship to ram the other. The defeated vessel waves a miniature white flag of surrender, while the victor flies a privateer banner with the markings of the Khan’Kel Bazaar.
>poke my pin
As you fidget with your tortoise shell pin, a tiny, one-eared nacre rabbit pops out. It hops across the tortoise shell edges before disappearing under the diamond.
>push my pin
Suddenly, a tiny malachite pickle bounces across one of the bridges spanning your tortoise shell pin, chased by a miniature aardvark. Snickering silently to yourself, you push the duo back out of sight.
>tickle my pin
You tickle your fingers across the underside of your tortoise shell pin, releasing a small catch in the process. A miniature version of the gnomeflinger rises up from the heart of the pin’s diamond, flinging several grains of sand to the winds before disappearing.
Special Note for Ta’Vaalor
Ta’Vaalor had a partial citizenship pin and a full citizenship pin. The “golden wyvern pin” for partial citizens will still work but will only have the PAT verb trap. However, with this update, “an eahnor wyvern badge” will work for partial and full citizens equally.
Getting a Pin
Pin distribution is up to town gurus. With these updates, I’m sure you’ll see many of us out and about handing out pins
Many thanks to the town gurus who put up with my nagging to get me messaging (and of course, as always, to my QCers who rock).
