PLAYERSHOPS: New Playershop Owners! GM Wyrom posted that there is a bug with your rent – it’s evidently calculating what the previous shop owner’s fees were, and their late check in! Eeks. Go to your shop and use SHOP INFO. ASSIST if you see these problems – and read over his post with more info:

There is currently a bug with new shop owners where if you claimed a shop in this last round of lotteries, you inherited the previous owners debts. We can fix this, but it does require you to ASSIST. Rent isn’t like abandonment, meaning once you go under 0, you can have your shop repossessed. Because you assumed debt, you also assumed their late check in to the shop, so if you didn’t do anything in the shop or type SHOP INFO, it may not count it as you visiting, which will cause rent to get checked prematurely. All of these things will be fixed, but in the meantime, if you have debt (negative balance), please load up your shop with at least debt + 30,000 silver and put in an ASSIST. We’ll get you refunded for that debt. The shop also requires you to check in, which means you need to pass through the shop entrance AND use a SHOP command.
With a lot of new shop owners, we’re seeing many of them get hit for rent on August 1st and it getting repossessed due to no funds being put in or never visiting it to start the process. There will be another round of fixes coming soon. Once those are out, they will be announced. I’m also going to make the process a little easier soon, but also remove a lot of the previous bandaids.
