ANNOUNCEMENT: GM Kaonashi announced the opening of the Nereid’s Cradle Night Market addition to Kraken’s Fall. Under the Canopied Walk, which is accessed via a new rope-strung bridge on the Boardwalk, you will find seven new rooms: three new fishing spaces, a muscled half-elf who doesn’t mess around, a stout fishmonger, and the all-new Kraken’s Fall Brawling Pit.

I am humbled to announce the release of the Nereid’s Cradle Canopied Walk, otherwise known as the Kraken’s Fall Night Market. Built as an extension to the Nereid’s Cradle boardwalk, the Night Market can be accessed by crossing the rope-strung bridge over the sand in Nereid’s Cradle, room 1917008. This attraction is available NOW in both Gemstone IV Platinum and Prime instances.

The Night Market is a canopy-covered extension to the existing boardwalk off the Nereid’s Cradle beach and over the nearby ocean. It features seven new rooms, three dedicated fishing spaces, a muscled half-elf who doesn’t mess around, a stout fishmonger who we swear does work, and the all-new Kraken’s Fall Brawling Pit.

Please learn more in our Discord’s krakenʼs-fall channel, where I have posted extended details, including Special Thanks for those great GMs who helped me along in this.

Boardwalk Fishing
Alongside the recent expansion to beach fishing across Nereid’s Cradle, Kraken’s Fall residents may now enjoy pier fishing from off of three rooms in this new Canopied Walk. Cast off and reel in the bounty of our local waters. Please mind the professionals just trying to do their jobs.

The Bad Bar
Thirsty and can’t find anything better to drink? Hungry for questionable foods cooked especially for you by Gentleman Hoorne? Fear not! Enjoy the Night Market’s Bad Bar. Please mind the muscled half-elf adjacent. He doesn’t have much of a sense of humor.

If you need a break from all this… ambiance… please consider stepping out to the west of the bar, for a relaxing sit around our luxurious hearth. Nothing says night fishing like booze and fire, after all.

Brawling Pit
Have a score to settle? Had one too many and want to throw fists with a friend? We’ve got you. A roped-off Brawling Pit is set below the Canopied Walk’s wooden planks for use on special occasions, accessed via the sandy wooden stairs next to the Bad Bar. Please read the nearby sign for rules and watch for announcements of its availability on Discord or via events.
Special Thanks
These releases cannot happen without significant help behind the scenes. Thank you to APM Thandiwe for giving me the space to create (and helping with the fishing), GM Xynwyn and GM Elysani for their mentorship and spot-checks, GM Marstreforn for work on the Brawling Pit, GM Haxus for coding quality control, and especially to GM Aiza for persistence, thoroughness, and insight in general quality control. And of course, to the players who call Kraken’s Fall home. This is yours.

[Epilogue]

A tall half-elf stands on the boardwalk and gazes over the white sand of Nereid’s Cradle as the sun rises ahead of him, lighting the beach with a pale orange glow. He rests one hand on his hip, hooking a thumb through his corded leather belt, while running the other through his steel grey hair. Below him, the boardwalk’s wooden planks are weathered from the sun and flecked with sand.

“Hoorne Cornelius, you sly dog,” he says quietly to himself. “You’ve done it again.”

A stiff wind rushes off the water, absorbing the half-elf’s words and riffling the patches of tall, reedy grass that dot the beach. At the shoreline, waves flow over a smooth grey boulder that splits the boardwalk, lingering briefly in a circular depression set in the boulder’s face before draining away.

Standing beside Hoorne is a shirtless, muscled half-elf whose darkly bronzed figure contrasts the coming morning. Before the pair, a new rope-strung bridge is hung low across the sand, leading toward a different section of boardwalk that stretches over the ocean’s white-capped turquoise water. The muscled half-elf frowns and mutters to himself.

“Keep your shirt on,” Hoorne says. “Be the muscle and mind the bar. I’ll see you’re paid. And keep them out of the pit.” He flashes a wry, toothy grin. “Except on my say-so, naturally.”

The two half-elves gaze out over the bridge and toward the bright linen canopy that covers the second section of boardwalk. On the distant water, hunched figures paddle long boats through breaking waves and away from shore.

“Naturally,” the muscled half-elf sighs.
