A few new purchaseable upgrades to Animalistic Totems will be released this Duskruin:
Fluctuating Focus: Each unlock of this ability will allow you to add another focus for your totem’s Bestial Power. Your totem can still only have one active focus at a time and you must be NOT in combat to switch the focus. You can unlock 3 tiers of Fluctuating Focus to have all 4 types of Bestial Power focus on your totem if you like. Each focus uses the same tiers for Bestial Power that you have already unlocked. (Rotate with PEDAL)
Gem Eater: You will be able to feed your totem gems, as well as skins, to power the Bestial Power ability.
In addition, an Animal Noun/Category system has been built to make it easier to add new animal nouns that are approved, as well as categorize huntable creatures properly. Currently Animalistic Totems and Animalistic Spirit items will be moved over to use this system.
Notable System Features:
Animalistic Totems will be able to absorb spiritual essences of certain pet items.
You should be able to TOSS your Animalistic Totem at a creature to send it in for review to be added to the system.
Animalistic Spirit items will have some new options in the currently existing groups and the lists in ANALYZE will be in alphabetical order.
Animalistic Spirit spirit change certificates will let you choose the noun with TWIST (after using TURN to select an overall group).
There should be few to no false positives with this new system.
NOTE: I will make a separate announcement when these updates are live.
Forgot to say I also added a confirm check for POINT: >point my idol at lemur
WARNING! Doing this will overwrite the current spirit essence in this slot – “a wrinkle-faced turtle with crossed eyes”. If you are sure you want to do this, repeat this command in the next 30 seconds.
Roundtime: 5 sec.
And there are no changes to the amount of charges it can hold and I am unsure on the whole STOW container thing.
For those curious … there are currently 700 animal nouns in the Animal Noun system. Some of those will be ones Animalistic Spirit can use (if the group is available), while the whole 700 are available nouns the Animalistic Totem can capture. Likely the Scrimshaw Knife and Pelican/Toothkey will be updated to use this in some ways.
