Inspired by February’s Greater Felcour Gauntlet, August’s unique vault item starts its life with you as “a brass widget pin” — but after choosing where you want this jewelry item worn, it becomes a conduit to tiny pocket dimensions for your roleplay needs.
Reminder that this item binds to the person opening the vault, and you can only get one. Also note, I do not know when the vault will be available, but I know we always announce it.
Straight out of the vault, you can select either Viridian Sands Cove or Amphitheatre of the Clouds for your room themes. With a quick TURN of your widget, you can set up a portal to there.
The Details:
5 fluff verb traps
A loresong
2x/day, 15m per time
Option for single-room setup or dual-room setup
Option to restrict entry
Option to permanently BREAK the item, destroying it and receiving the standard EXP orb. If you never want to break it, you can POKE it to permanently stop it from breaking and thus rest easy that you won’t accidentally do it.
Two 2-room themes, with the ability to add more sets (see Themes below)
Single-Room vs. Dual-Room Setup
Each theme is a pair of rooms. When single-room setup is chosen, only the first room in the pair will be accessible. You can set it to allow anyone to enter or only those you POINT your widget at. This is great if you want everyone in the same room and able to interact.
If you choose a dual-room setup, access into the first room must always be restricted to those you POINT at. For the second room, you can either leave that open to anyone or restrict it so only those you WAVE your widget at can enter. The second room is a viewing room — so you will PEER (window), and it will show you everything that is happening in the first room.
Portal Setup
Once you set up your widget with all the right settings (accessed via WHISPER), you can TURN your widget to have a portal appear. There are ineligible areas — if you cannot teleport in that room, you can’t set up the portal.
In addition, when the portal is set up in a room that is NOT intown or neartown, you will not be able to disarm traps or pick boxes, do magic, hand things to others (including exchange), or drop anything.
You cannot be injured at all if you wish to go through the portal.
Intent
This is meant to be a roleplaying tool, giving you temporary access to tiny “pocket dimensions.” You can host a brunch or host a play, but you can’t fight! If you want to fight, use those Greater Felcour Gauntlets from last run!
Themes
Sometime after opening, a prize pile that costs bloodscrip will be put out; I will announce it when it is live, including where it is. If you pay the price, you will be given a tiny brass gear. The gear will have a random theme (ANALYZE it to see what it is). If it is a theme you have not collected, you can PUSH (WIDGET), while holding both it and the gear, and add that two-room theme to your widget.

The room(s) and portal only stick around 15 minutes
The rooms are NOT considered private
Scars count as injuries
If you can drop things in the room, you can use basketifiers and Deck the Hall items

As an FYI, the vault item, Fizwixit’s Wonderful WIdget, will be updated to be 2x/day at 30 minutes each (not 15, as originally announced). An additional ability that will allow you to use your 2nd use and “refresh” your portal while it is still out will be added as well.
The forum post has been updated. These 2 changes are in process and may not be evident when the vault is first released, but they’ll be out ASAP.

Okay, I have some good news — sharing here first, then I’ll go update my post, then I’ll go do a mini-announcement.
I have received the okay to extend this to 30 minutes per session (so 2x/day at 30min/each). In addition, I can allow you to use both charges back-to-back to “refresh” your timer and add 30m to what is left.
Right now, this is going to show as 15 minutes and won’t have the refresh, because I have to update some code and get it fast-QC’d, and I’m still at the job that pays the bills, LOL. But it is a done deal that this will happen.
