2026 Feb Duskruin Preview #5: Mechanical Locksmith Bracers Update

DUSKRUIN: GM Scrimge announced the return of the Grinding Gear shop in Duskruin with updates to mechanical locksmith bracers. Two new modules Emergency, and Enhancive, can be added to any Tier. Hello Arena Runners, Spectators, and fellow Elanthians!

I am excited to announce some updates to mechanical locksmith bracers being released at Duskruin at the new and improved, Grinding Gears shop!

New releases!

Emergency Module:
100% chance 1x per day to prevent lockpick damage due to fumble or a skillcheck roll being too low compared to the box difficulty.
This falls to a 25% chance for the next 24 hours after first use.

Enhancive Module:
Adds a +5/+5 to your Lockpick and Disarm Bonus (25 charges), subject to normal enhancive mechanics and charging requirements.
Additionally, a scarab can be put in your bracer for a +20/+20 bonus to Lockpick and Disarm Bonuses for 3 minutes. This consumes the scarab. There is no cooldown. Still works even if out of enhancive charges. (CanNOT exceed the standard 50 enhancement limit.)

Modules can be added to any Tier of bracer.

Updates:
TURN & SPIN 3rd party messaging has been muted to help with the ambient spam these bracers sometimes have created.

As a reminder on Tiers:

Off the shelf: Hold 5 lockpicks, access to PUSH and TURN.
Tier 1: Holds 10 lockpicks, access to PUSH, TURN, WEAR, REMOVE, SPIN, TICKLE.
Tier 2: Holds 20 lockpicks, adds RUB and POKE.
RUB allows the wearer to detect traps on boxes.

Pricing in bloodscrip has been approved as follows:

Off the shelf: 3500
Tier 1: 1500
Tier 2: 75000
Emergency Module: 25000
Enhancive Module: 100000

Note: False alarm – I can’t do math. The 50 enhancive cap is currently in play, including the scarabs.
