Ever find the perfect rock and just want to bring it around with you everywhere you go? Well, the wait is over! Just seek out a battered, grime-covered tent near the Locksmehr River encampment and talk to the gnoll. I highly recommend ASKing the gnoll about things before searching the wares on the shelves, especially about dwarves (IYKYK).

This shop will be a delayed open, aiming for 2/15

Details:
The pet rocks bind to the first person to use PROD on the summoning device. The first pet rock you bond with will also award you the post-name title of Sentinel of the Skirmishing Stone.

Off-the-shelf pet rocks (aka Tier 1, OTS) are sort of like your typical pet rock — they don’t move around a lot because they are, you know, rocks. Their verb/ambient messaging revolves around that, but they will still follow you if you move rooms and such.

You can make your rock a bit more active by unlocking to T2, or let it realize its full rocky potential by unlocking to T3. At T3, if you miss your sedate rock, you can toggle it back to act like T1. Plus, at T3 (set to act like T3), you will have a chance of getting T1 or T2 messaging, so your favourite messages from those tiers will always be available.

Each tier has 3 fluff verbs + numerous ambients associated with it.

There is also a loresong you can access on the summoning device that gives the history of how these rocks came to be so animated.

Some T1 ambients:
A dark travertine stone quivers in place. Or was that just a small ground tremor?

A dark travertine stone quivers slightly, but that may just be some heavy footsteps nearby.

Thinking you detect movement, you glance over at a dark travertine stone, but it just sits there.
Some T2 ambients:
Without warning, a dark travertine stone suddenly nudges you and makes a sort of trilling sound.

Resting near a container, a dark travertine stone wriggles impatiently in place, mumbling something to itself.

A dark travertine stone wobbles a bit, then flips itself over, obscuring some of its chipped surface against the floor.
Some T3 ambients:
A dark travertine stone rolls this way and that by a nonmoveable container, cautiously inspecting it.

A dark travertine stone suddenly jumps off the ground a few inches, landing on the floor with a solid thud and a muttered curse in Common.

With a gravelly grunt, your stone taps against your foot.

Some verb examples (may vary slightly by tier):
eat stone
Out of curiosity, you try to stick a dark travertine stone in your mouth. It is too hard to bite down upon, but you detect hints of aged blood, dust, and moss beneath stone. The stone lets loose a battle cry and jumps back, smacking into your teeth painfully. It sits on the furthest edge of your palm and continues to howl war cries in your direction.

lick stone
You run your tongue along the chipped surface of your stone. It tastes of stone with an earthy metallic tang, like old blood ground in dirt. The stone, unsurprisingly, does nothing beneath your tongue’s ablutions.

You turn a dark travertine stone marred by chips over in your hands, and it grunts in annoyance, flipping back over as it mutters to itself for several more moments.

You brush off a few specks of dirt from a dark travertine stone marred by chips. It grunts demandingly, flipping over so you can brush off its other side. As you oblige, the stone rolls back quickly, momentarily squishing your fingers. It chortles proudly to itself.

Your stone spins around in your palm, and you almost drop it. It grunts gleefully to itself.

You start to set a dark travertine stone down, but it leaps out of your hand and lands on the floor with a thud, its travertine exterior almost visibly bristling. It lets out a war-like shout then stills.

Without warning, a dark travertine stone spins around you, letting out several war cries before settling down against your foot and grumbling happily to itself.

You try to turn a dark travertine stone over, but it screams a series of barely intelligible invectives at you and and rolls a few feet away.

A rust-colored metallic scarab beetle scuttles over to a dark travertine stone, which shouts happily and charges it. A rust-colored metallic scarab beetle is lost to sight under stone.

(it interacts with various bugs found in the rooms for the bug system)

A stocky black reindeer looks askance at a dark travertine stone as it dashes over to it and shouts a warbling challenge.

You glance over at your stone. It is just sitting there. Like a rock.

A tiny forest green teadragon with silver-veined red wings scurries about a dark travertine stone, chirruping cheerfully, and a dark travertine stone lets loose a whoop and chases after it. The teadragon squeals and waddles away.

Q&A:
Yes, they interact with other pets and mounts

No, you cannot use a naming potion on it
