Summary:

* Minor demons are no longer banned in the Landing!

* Also, not shown below, but no KST on Wednesday this week–Valentine’s Day and instead he’ll be around for Thursday KST.

* Remember, Thursday is also the TownCrier’s next Town Hall at Helga’s at 10:00 PM Eastern for some pre-KST fun, discussing Rone and whatever other topics are on your mind!

Log:

A town crier shouts nearby, “The Town Council will be making an important announcement outside of Moot Hall in ten minutes!”

A disgruntled citizen mumbles something about the Town Council likely announcing additional payments to Council members.

A town clerk arrives, looking a bit nervous.

The town clerk clears his throat.

The town clerk says, “Thank…you for coming.” He looks around the crowd.

The town clerk says, “The Town Council shall post an official, more detailed announcement within two nights..but…”

The town clerk says, “At the behest of Mayor Cruxophim, who requested the Council consider his proposal…”

The town clerk says, “The Town Council has voted in favor….”

The town clerk says, “Because of past victories accomplished by those with knowledge of sorcery and their valued aid in times of trouble, and in showing a new support for all walks of life and magic within town….”

The town clerk says, “Minor demons, effective immediately, are no longer banned from town.”

The town clerk says, “Sorcerers do not need to hide their demonic creatures behind practiced illusions anymore.”

The town clerk says, “The Town Council will post an official announcement within two nights, as they also seek to clarify some new tolerance towards once questionable magic, such as blood magic.”

Although I asked the question of Mayor Cruxophim at the town hall meeting, about when we might expect sorcerers to no longer be separated from their demons when within the town environs of the Landing, I did not expect action on this issue so quickly!

Thank you, Mister Mayor and wise Council, for entertaining my desire! Now I can have a companion to carry all my shopping packages.

I have nothing constructive to add to this thread, but if this is going to be stuck in my head the rest of the day, it’s only fair to spread it to everyone:

Who let the demons out?
Who, who, who, who, who?
Who let the demons out?
Who, who, who, who, who?
Who let the demons out?
Who, who, who, who, who?
Who let the demons out?

Clearly, this calls for the creation of demonic ear worms, like in Wrath of Khan.

Thank you so much for this change — and that goes out to everyone who had a hand in it, from Cruxophim who brought it up at Lylia’s repeated insistence to Kenstrom who listened and approved it to any GMs on the backstage side who were involved in approval. From a mechanics standpoint, demons aren’t all that different from familiars (aside from attacking would-be thieves), and from a roleplaying standpoint, it’s a great way to differentiate the Landing from Imperial provinces.

It’ll also give some people a fantastic new reason to think of the Landing as a den of demon-loving vice, while giving other people a chance to enjoy being in a demon-loving den of vice. Win/win! 🙂
