Vaalor citizenship at banquet for 100k

His Majesty King Qalinor Vaalor will be granting full citizenship at the Banquet this Saturday at 8pm to any elf of Vaalorian descent for 100,000 silvers. Citizenship will happen an hour before the banquet, at 7pm. Maybe even for F2P!

A soldier in crimson livery strides in, unfurls a pristine white parchment scroll, and recites:

Lesser Actuary Thaon announces that, by permission of his Royal Highness King Qalinor Vaalor the Sovereign Commander of the Crimson Legion, the Pride, the Honor, and the Glory of Ta’Vaalor, he will offer a special one time only service at the upcoming awards banquet. Any elf of Vaalorian descent may hereby purchase full citizenship within the city-state of Ta’Vaalor for the nominal fee of 100,000 silver pieces. This offer is good for the night of the banquet only and is open to all Vaalorian elves, regardless of current citizenship status. Actuary Thaon will be distributing citizenship badges to those who partake of the offer.

OOC NOTE: This offer is good only for one hour on the night of the banquet, from 7-8 pm elven on Saturday March 4th. Thaon will provide the service for the hour prior to the festivities at the bonfire on the festival grounds. It extends to any Vaalorian elf, including f2p accounts. Runners will be available for the fee.

This is an excellent opportunity for our new and returning players, or those who have been with us for a while, but just got into Vaalor recently.

If there’s anyone who wishes to take advantage but doesn’t have the silvers, please hit me up. I’ll see what I can do to help you out!

What about partial citizenship pins was anything ever decided on bringing them back?

After much consideration, they will not be coming back. Though Qalinor is a bit more liberal than some, there is still a very xenophobic culture within Ta’Vaalor. This culture gained resolve with the 2009 storyline “When Aelotoi Attack” which resulted in the implementation of the paper system, the creation of the Legion Reserves, and the tightening of restrictions on citizenship. Given recent events, I see no reason why this viewpoint would have changed. If anything, finding that their King and a Lord Legionnaire Commander were once possessed, bolstered the isolationists within the political structure.
Therefore, badges will remain for full citizens only and papers will be required for all others.

Is it safe to assume that current citizens who don’t have badges, will be able to acquire one?

At the risk of sounding foolish does this apply to dark elves as well?

Tnere was a question brought up regarding this as well and I’m fairly certain of the answer, but I want to confirm. With this opportunity, F2P is still inelliginle for the Legion, right?

When I created the membership rules, f2p was excluded primarily due to the lack of ability to gain citizenship. That being said, I will review the code for the Legion Recruiter and, should there be no restrictions coded into it, I will allow f2p with citizenship through this special, one time, opportunity to join the Legion. We had several f2p accounts that participated in Ties that Bind and I feel like they deserve some love for it. This will not be a regular exception.

>>Is it safe to assume that current citizens who don’t have badges, will be able to acquire one?

Yes, Thaon will be able to provide citizenship badges to those who do not have them. Keep in mind this will only be for an hour prior to the banquet so I will focus on those purchasing citizenship first. Thaon will be around later this month as well, so even if I can’t get to you Saturday, there will be another opportunity to receive your badge.

>>At the risk of sounding foolish does this apply to dark elves as well?

Roblar nailed it. Citizenship is not available for Dark Elves in Ta’Vaalor and this special event applies only to Vaalorian elves.

Thank you. We of the Legion wanted clarification as we’d like to continue bolstering our ranks… also, it was late and typos.

Any idea on when we might be able to acquire badges? Work decreed that I wasn’t available for the event, and I can request time off in order to participate in an event, given sufficient notice.

Thaon seems to come visit every 3-6 months to distribute badges. It usually gets calendared well in advance.
