Subj: Thadston's Kind-of-an-Announcement and Dennet's Surprising Goal (September 12 story recap)
Like last time, I’ve left in way more of the conversation than usual since what Thadston doesn’t respond to might be just as important as what he does.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Greeting Thadston ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Some townspeople wander by, gossiping, “…and I heard Sir Thadston has returned to the Outpost after being gone…and he’s going to make some announcement tonight and…” They wander off.

[a group forms on Cryheart, heads to the outpost, and eventually…]

[Outpost, Outer Courtyard]
Guards flank the outpost’s second portcullis, the entryway into the interior of the Hendoran’s compound. Both soldiers clutch halberds and gaze directly forward from under polished helms. The inner wall, built of stone, looms up over the entryway with arrow slits running the length of the visible wall. You also see a stone bench.

There is some movement on the other side of the portcullis, and marching out of the main stone tower, Sir Thadston emerges. His movements are as stoic as his face, and his eyes regard everyone and everything with the same measure of coldness as he approaches the Outer Courtyard.

Thadston deeply says, “Eve.”

J>look thads
You see Sir Thadston Andrews.
He appears to be a Human from Hendor.
He is very tall. He appears to be mature. He has brooding mist grey eyes and tanned skin. He has chin-length, wavy golden-brown hair peppered with white. He has a square-jawed face, a broken nose and a trimmed, golden-brown beard.
He is in good shape.
He is wearing a crystal amulet, a crisp dark leather cloak emblazoned with a deep blue phoenix on the back, a silver-bound blue steel aegis, a worn black leather pack, some heavy grey and black scalemail, some black enameled steel bracers, a heavy black back scabbard, some fitted dark leather pants, and a pair of black boots.

Cryheart asks, “Sir Andrews, I thought ye had removed yourself from the title?”
Thadston deeply says, “Thank you for attending. I will not keep you long.”
Thadston deeply says, “We can never truly move beyond our duty Sir Cryheart.”
Cryheart says, “Agree.”
Speaking affably to Thadston, Cruxophim notes, “Of course.”
Speaking to Thadston, Ysharra says, “We’ll try to stay awake in this huge Cryheart blob.”
Speaking diplomatically to Thadston, Cruxophim inquires, “I hope the report caught you up to speed?”
Thadston deeply says, “Yes.”
(OOC) Cruxophim’s player whispers to the group, “Let’s just assume Crux sent him a link to the Keeping up with the Kestrels page, hehe.”
Cruxophim nods once at Thadston.
Goldstr whispers to the group, “Still no spurs.”

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Thadston’s Announcement – Securing the Plinite and Capturing Rysus ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Thadston deeply says, “Much has transpired in my absence.”
Speaking softly to Thadston, Korsa says, “Indeed, it has.”
Thadston deeply says, “Among them, my tolerance for our enemies evaporating.”
You curiously ask, “Which enemies? The Rooks?”
Thadston deeply says, “The Brotherhood of Rooks.”
An intense verdant glow surrounds Aurach for a moment.
Speaking calmly to Thadston, Cruxophim inquires, “Our enemies being Raznel, among others, one presumes?”
Speaking amusedly to Cruxophim, you comment, “I don’t think he ever had a tolerance for Raznel to lose.”
Thadston deeply says, “Their assault on this outpost has gone unanswered. Their existence has been allowed for too long.”
Daniels says, “Lets we can take the fight to them…”
Speaking to Thadston, Emindala asks, “How do you propose to do that Sir?”
Speaking thoughtfully to Thadston, Cruxophim reasons, “You are aware that in the wake of the feckless assault on the Outpost, they hardly pose as much a threat as they once did, yes? Damn near did themselves in. And a good portion of those that weren’t are being recruited elsewhere.”
Speaking to Cruxophim, Ysharra says, “He’s talking about Landing citizens, too.”
Speaking bluntly to Thadston, Kayse counters, “The Rooks have not shown their faces since that attack. Perhaps they had good reason to as well. Their people are missing.”
Speaking indifferently to Thadston, Cruxophim opines, “They’re hobbling, hardly our largest looming threat at the present.”
Speaking to Thadston, Stormyrain offers, “Actually, their assault was answered, and half the damned town was almost burned to the ground by the Golems.”
Speaking calmly to Ysharra, Cruxophim agrees, “I’m aware.”
Thadston deeply says, “The Brotherhood has a history of crawling under a rock, regrouping, and resurfacing.”
You acknowledge, “Golems wielding pylons, no less.”
Speaking to Thadston, Ysharra says, “They’re telling you the truth. The Rooks were opposed either actively or verbally by nearly everyone here.”
Speaking evenly to Thadston, Cruxophim reminds, “As do other threats. Threats that do not pertain to misguided citizens of our town.”
Huz exclaims, “The golems were a threat from the getgo and we let them get carted right in here!”
Telum agrees with Huz.
Telum says, “We need to nip this in the bud.”
Telum says, “Well whatever bud is left.”
Speaking to Thadston, Emindala says, “I died opposing the Rooks that day, as did many others. That threat was answered in spades.”
Cotelle softly says, “Well… the bud has blossomed, but I know what you mean.”
Thadston deeply says, “I have begun plans to undergo operations to accomplish two main objectives. Our position is that we shall help seek out the cache of plinite that the Brotherhood of Rooks stole from the Hall of Mages, and return it. Our secondary, yet equally important goal, is the capture or murder of their leader, Rysus.”
Daniels says, “We got a nice group here.”
Daniels says, “To fight.”
Speaking to his six-stemmed snapdragon, Ramith says, “No he didn’t mean you…”
Goldstr whispers to the group, “This be Dennet’s words comin out a Thadson mouth.”
Speaking to Thadston, Dirra asks, “Of other threats, any intelligence on the witch Raznel?”
Telum says, “Bounty on Rysus, that I can get behind.”
Thadston deeply says, “There is no bounty.”
Speaking to Thadston, Arnylon asks, “And how do you and your soldiers plan on accomplishing both goals?”
Thadston deeply says, “There is only action now.”
Telum says, “No the bounty isn’t of money.”
Telum says, “Wrong wording.”
Telum says, “Just, he needs to .. not be.”
Speaking calmly to Thadston, Kayse says, “We are doing what we can to get the plinite. Marching into the town is not the answer.”
Speaking calmly to Thadston, Cruxophim reminds, “In your absence, our town has been fired upon by the pylons once — which I can forgive, as it was unfairly provoked — and nearly reduced to ash twice. This is hardly comparable.”
Thadston deeply says, “I did not say we would march into town, or even share any details of our operations planned.”
Speaking to Thadston, Emindala asks, “How do you plan to carry out this agenda of yours?”
Aurach quietly says, “We should drink a toast in response to the new found resolve…”
Thadston deeply says, “Nor will I elaborate.”
Kayse dryly remarks, “Lucky guess.”
You carefully reason, “The plinite might be very important for saving a life, so I would disagree that capturing Rysus is just as important.”
Thadston deeply says, “There exists far too many sympathizers in this mix.”
Speaking curiously to Thadston, Cruxophim inquires, “And if we manage to procure the plinite first?”
Thadston deeply says, “Then you would have.”
Speaking to Thadston, Irar says, “I’m no sympathizer, Sir.”
You acknowledge, “Though saving lives does admittedly take high priority for most of my profession, so I might have a biased perspective.”
Marijka observes, “So our purpose here is… to be lectured, to absolutely no purpose, since we’re being invited not to participate or be informed ahead of time. Lovely. I believe that makes it beer time.”
Dergoatean whispers to the group, “Details of our operations planned… I didn’t figure I’d ever hear phrases like that out of his mouth.”
Speaking patiently to Thadston, Kayse clarifies, “It is not sympathy it is trying to do this without additional blood shed.”
Speaking softly to Thadston, Korsa asks, “Then what are you proposing if we are not going to be given any information?”
Speaking to Thadston, Shinann says, “No need to elaborate. You cannot enter the city for the Rooks. Thrazyar has a truce with them that has not been broken within the walls.”
Speaking to you, Queshu says, “Capturing Rysus also saves lives, Leaf.”
Thadston deeply says, “I am giving you fair warning.”
Bernadette whispers to the group, “Maybe those aren’t his words.”
Dalabrac says, “Rooks should be eliminated.”
Irar says, “Warning of what, exactly? Many here have fought beside you.”
Speaking to Thadston, Arnylon asks, “I am not seeking details of the plan only wondering if part of the plan consists of breaching the town walls with Imperial troops…?”
Speaking evenly to Queshu, you ask, “Over time, maybe, but the Rooks haven’t taken action against our citizens for… two years, perhaps?”
Speaking to Thadston, Ysharra asks, “That you’re going to invade the streets and hovels and cart off citizens with no due process?”
Thadston deeply says, “Then fight beside us again.”
Speaking dryly to Thadston, Cruxophim remarks, “You’re giving me fair warning are you? Well, I’ll give you fair warning as well. We already have reason to suspect that several of our citizens have been unjustly accosted, tortured, and killed. These are hardly the actions of an ally.”
Speaking to Thadston, Dirra says, “Might we meet about the Witch at your convenience.”
Speaking to Queshu, you add, “Not that I’m opposed to an attack. Not anymore, after I’ve seen that everyone was right about them.”
Speaking vaguely to Queshu, you say, “Just… priorities and all.”
Thadston deeply says, “I do not wish to discuss the witch at this time.”
Speaking to Thadston, Emindala says, “Then give us a Reason to fight beside you.”
Speaking to Thadston, Dirra says, “Understood.”
Speaking to Thadston, Shinann asks, “Where is your wedding ring?”
Thadston deeply says, “I have no further announcement.”
Speaking skeptically to Thadston, Cruxophim deadpans, “I am beginning to question the nature of this alliance, but of course, I am amenable to reasonable solutions. Tactical… solutions.”
Thadston deeply says, “I do not wish to discuss my wedding ring at this time.”
Shinann says, “Wait.”
Shinann says, “You do not wish to discuss way too much.”
Telum says, “Well neither do we. The fate of Landing holds priority here.”
Shinann says, “And we do not accept that.”
(OOC) Dalabrac’s player whispers to the group, “G g g golem.”
Speaking to Thadston, Emindala says, “You’re beginning to remind me of a certain lumberjack we found out in the woods one day. . . .”
(OOC) Cruxophim’s player whispers to the group, “I do not have data for that query, beep boop beep.”
Speaking to Thadston, Dirra asks, “Wedding?”
Shinann says, “He started wearing it after she was found dead.”
Arnylon says, “As long as the operations remain outside the walls of the Landing, I’m sure nobody here will hold issue with it.”
(OOC) Dalabrac’s player whispers to the group, “#golemtheory.”
Pukk quietly says, “Some of us stood with the outpost as it was assaulted, we are no enemies. But you are treating us as such.”

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Discussion During a Baby Break ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

[Kenstrom briefly disappears for baby reasons, but I’ll leave in the interim dialogue due to the nature of the night]

Speaking to Thadston, Irar asks, “Could you remind me where my Prelate’s off to? What was his name again?”
Speaking idly to Thadston, you inquire, “Say, could you speak with Dennet about putting me back on the list of people allowed to visit the inside?”
You point at a black iron portcullis.
Speaking wryly to Arnylon, Cruxophim explains, “I do not think they shall.”
You whisper, “Prodding with questions he might not want to discuss.” to your group.
Speaking to Thadston, Shinann says, “So, this announcement falls on deaf ears.”
Telum says, “The outpost is quickly losing allies.”
Irar whispers to the group, “I don’t care whether he does or does not wish to discuss the Prelate. I deserve to know.”
Korsa softly says, “Doesn’t really feel like an announement at all.”
Cotelle softly admits, “We can’t help with whatever the plans are if we don’t know what they are.”
Speaking to Cruxophim, Arnylon says, “I know. My comment was worded that way for a reason. Since no other announcement is forthcoming, perhaps a return to town is in order.”
Speaking to Thadston, Dirra says, “My apologies Sir Andrews if I asked beyond my station.”
Speaking to Thadston, Ysharra says, “Please reconsider this. The Empire and the Landing have had difficult relations, but the Hendoran outpost has managed to buck most of that in the time it’s been here.”
Telum says, “At some point we’ll have to take our own action to guard the town, under the guidance of our mayor. To ensure the safety of the citizens.”
Speaking to Thadston, Shinann says, “Again, there is a truce with the Rooks inside our walls.”
Shinann says, “Set down by Thrayzar.”
Shinann says, “He has not broken it.”
Madmountan says, “Thadston’s men getting the plinite from the Rooks doesn’t violate the truce the Rooks have with the militia.”
Madmountan says, “Just don’t help him.”
Madmountan shrugs.
Kayse annoyedly says, “We will end up getting tied into it. There are other ways.”
Cotelle confusedly says, “Can’t help anyway since he doesn’t want to give us details about the operation…”
Telum says, “If this is no more than a press release. we have no reason to be discussin future plans.”
Speaking seriously to Thadston, Cruxophim insists, “I understand the need for discretion and secrecy, of course… it is the Rooks. But I do expect some manner of outline in private regarding whatever your plans may be. To proceed with such without the governmental cooperation of the Landing would be in violation of our rights.”
Speaking to Thadston, Emindala says, “Sir. . .you seem much different since your return. . .”
Arnylon says, “As long as they do not invade the town or come within its walls, I’m sure most here would not be opposed to his plan.”
(OOC) Cryheart’s player whispers to the group, “I think tis baby delay time.”
Telum says, “Hence the problem, that’s not outlined as out of the question.”
Speaking softly to Thadston, Korsa asks, “So then what becomes of us if we choose not to blindly follow this plan we are given no information on.?”
Speaking to Arnylon, you reason, “Problem is almost any plan that involves capturing Rysus does involve entering the gates…”
Speaking surreptitiously to you, Cruxophim wonders, “Who is to play judge, jury, and executioner in this scenario, I wonder?”
Speaking darkly to Cruxophim, Emindala says, “Dennet.”

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The Mayor’s and Militia’s Opposition ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

BABY. AM BACK.
Speaking to you, Arnylon says, “I’m sure most here would take offense at any invasion of the town itself. Let us hope the, um, operation, does not come to that.”
Speaking vaguely to Cruxophim, you acknowledge, “I usually prefer jury or executioner.”
Telum says, “Oh dear.”
Speaking to you, Dergoatean exclaims, “Some of us have already been executioner within these walls!”
Speaking to Thadston, Emindala says, “Sir. . .you seem much different since your return. . .”
Speaking to Thadston, Goldstr asks, “Sir Have you been in touch wid Earl Jovery an been given orders?”
Speaking thoughtfully to Thadston, Cruxophim inquires, “You are aware of the standing agreement with the interrim Commander, regarding the exchange of the plinite for Rodnay, one of our citizens?”
Thadston deeply says, “I am different since my return.”
Thadston deeply says, “I have experienced much and do not wish to discuss it.”
Drektor says, “Oh comon.. this one isn’t even tryin.”
Speaking sympathetically to Thadston, Cruxophim agrees, “You’ve been through a great deal.”
Emindala says, “Yes. . .you keep saying that. . .about pretty much everything.”
Speaking to Thadston, Shinann asks, “You see… that is a problem…. tell me, you keep saying Disean is gone. Is he dead?”
Speaking diplomatically to Thadston, Cruxophim reminds, “But that does not excuse us our duties, alas.”
Speaking idly to Thadston, you repeat, “This isn’t a priority tonight, but when you get a chance, could you inform Dennet to allow me back into the outpost? I promise that just because I enjoyed my time in the arena doesn’t mean I abandoned my duties to Reannah.”
Speaking to Thadston, Dirra says, “My apologies Sir Andrews if I asked beyond my station. I still ask to have a few minutes with you so I can send memo to my Liege, Lord Malwind.”
Thadston deeply says, “Your access has been granted.”
Thadston nods to you.
You nod approvingly at Thadston.
You whisper, “Huh. I thought that one would catch him, actually.” to your group.
Telum says, “Does she get a plus one.”
You whisper, “Maybe he’s not a golem.” to your group.
Thadston looks off at something.
Emindala whispers to the group, “How so, he either doesn’t answer, or doesn’t respond. Sounds like a golem to me.”
Speaking softly to Thadston, Wintersylph exclaims, “I suggest you heed our Mayor’s warning, murdering someone inside the walls of the Landing is just that, “Murder” and that is against the law, regardless of who it’s against. Perhaps sharing more of your plans with our Government would serve you well!”
Pukk whispers to the group, “Maybe magic clouding his mind?”
Speaking softly to Thadston, Korsa asks, “I am curious.. since you are not giving us any information on this “plan” you speak of and expect us to follow blindly.. what becomes of us if we choose not to?”
Arnylon whispers to the group, “Sounds strangely like a certain prelate from Chastonia.”
Telum says, “Fair question.”
You whisper, “I was asking him a question unrelated to his intended announcement, so I thought that if he was being controlled then he wouldn’t have an answer.” to your group.
Thadston deeply says, “You do not need to follow.”
Goldstr whispers to the group, “Mayne no golem but a dopplega a thingy fer sure I bet.”
Speaking to Thadston, Dirra says, “I will await your agreement.”
Thadston deeply says, “I am not seeking your cooperation in these missions. I am giving you the courtesy of advance awareness.”
Telum says, “Well there are consequences to any choice, what would be those to choosing not to.”
Stormyrain whispers to the group, “–I’m sure whoever is controlling him can hear and direct conversation.”
Speaking to Thadston, Shinann asks, “Oh, but we do. Why tell us if we do not need to know?”
Aurach whispers to the group, “Get him outside the walls….”
Speaking to Thadston, Marijka objects, “No you aren’t.”
Speaking seriously to Thadston, Cruxophim insists, “I understand the need for discretion and secrecy, of course… it is the Rooks, after all. And I would not be opposed to keeping them in check, especially after the recent attack. But I do expect some manner of outline in private regarding whatever your clandestine plans may be. To proceed with such without the governmental cooperation of the Landing would be in violation of our rights and our independence as a Protectorate.”
Speaking to Thadston, Osloe says, “Sounds more like an ultimatum.”
(OOC) Cruxophim’s player whispers to the group, “Repeating in case it was baby time, heh.”
Speaking to Thadston, Marijka clarifies, “You’re taunting us. Nyah, nyah, I know something and I refuse to tell you what.”
Fyrentennimar says, “The Empire always gives ultimatums.”
Drektor says, “I think the annoucement is over. let em leave.”
Speaking softly to Thadston, Korsa says, “Shouldn’t we get the opportunity to choose if we want to be part of this? However, we can’t make a fair decision with just a “warning”.”
Thadston deeply says, “We will inform your office as needed to avoid casualities.”
Speaking to Thadston, Emindala asks, “Giving us the courtesy . . . in Our own Town???”
You whisper, “Then… if our worst suspicions are right, the questions he ‘doesn’t wish to discuss’ are the ones that the puppet master wouldn’t know the answers to…” to your group.
Speaking to Marijka, Ysharra says, “Someone clearly is.”
Telum says, “He doesn’t have any answers , he’s a talkin head for them.”
Telum says, “Report’s done.”
Speaking evenly to Thadston, Stormyrain says, “You cannot enter our town walls to achieve this, Thadston.”
Pukk quietly says, “Can’t trust a imp.”
Speaking coldly to Thadston, Cruxophim reminds, “It is not a courtesy if we do not concede to those terms, but I will see what your plans may entail.”
Telum says, “We’re not gettin more out of it.”
Speaking to Telum, Emindala says, “IT being the operative word.”
Speaking to Thadston, Stormyrain asks, “We will stand against you. You have no jurisdiction within the town. Have you forgotten?”
Telum says, “No offense with the talkin head, but ya don’t speak for em, you report what yer told to.”
Telum says, “No authority here.”
Pukk quietly says, “We stood with the outpost to help protect it….but it sounds like that counts for nothing.”
Thadston deeply says, “We will do what is necessary to handle any imperial enemy.”
Madmountan says, “I guess the most amusing thing about this to me is…that Dennet was insisting that the plinite retreival could be done without violence and condemned me for suggesting it.”
Telum says, “We’ll clear it up next time Dennet’s about.”
Madmountan says, “Now Thadston wants to use violence.”
Madmountan says, “They need to make up their minds.”
Speaking pointedly to Thadston, Cruxophim reminds, “Many of us defended the Outpost against the Rook’s unsanctioned assault, myself included. Many of us bled, and suffered casualties to defend you and yours.”
Speaking flatly to Thadston, Stormyrain says, “We are not the Empire’s enemy, yet. Don’t make us one.”
Thadston deeply says, “Your very status of Protectorate is arguably questionable as your town and leaders have done nothing to rein in the Brotherhood of Rooks or return the stolen plinite. Many are guilty of dereliction of duty to this alliance you preach.”
Raelee glares at Cruxophim.
Stormyrain slowly strides over to stand before Thadston.
Speaking to Thadston, Dirra asks, “Will you agree to meet with me to approve communication to my liege?”
Speaking to Thadston, Irar asks, “Has the Church been consulted concerning these operations? Did you discuss them with the Prelate before he went off to… Where is he now?”
Speaking firmly to Thadston, Kayse says, “We are working on it.”
Speaking to Thadston, Emindala says, “Just remember. .you’re an Outpost here, nothing more. We Live, Breathe and die here. We have a lot more to protect.”
Telum says, “All due respect Thadston still answers to higher ups, who are better equipped to give us the answers we need, and make decisions.”
Speaking to Thadston, Shinann says, “We protected the Outpost from them.”
Wintersylph yells, “You cannot conduct a personal war within our town, it is forbidden!”
Telum says, “He’s just delivering his report.”
Speaking to Thadston, Irar asks, “I’ve been personally given the word of the Prelate that this place remains independent of the Imperial Church, is that no longer the case with the wider Empire?”
Speaking to Thadston, Stormyrain repeats, “Don’t make us your enemy, Thadston. You do not have jurisdiction within the walls of the Landing. If you wish something done, you need to go through the Council, the Mayor, and the Militia.”
Speaking thoughtfully to Thadston, Cruxophim deadpans, “That is a strange accusation, dereliction of duty, coming from you, Sir Andrews.”
Speaking to you, Dergoatean says, “You know the barber in town? The one who shaves only people who don’t shave themselves? Kind of peculiar fellow.”

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Raelee’s Reasoning ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Speaking coolly to Thadston, Raelee asks, “Allow me to add something?”
Speaking to Thadston, Ysharra asks, “Most towns have ranks of clandestine fellowships and organizations. Would we be given leave to go arrest and kill Ta’Nalfein residents?”
Dergoatean says, “I wonder if he shaves himself.”
Thadston peers quizzically at Raelee.
Speaking to Thadston, Dergoatean asks, “What do you think?”
Goldstr exclaims, “I suggest swift contact wid Earl Jovery Mayor!”
Telum says, “Nothing’s getting decided here, now. he doesnt have the authority.”
Speaking calmly to Thadston, Cruxophim states, “I have been quite patient and diplomatic with these rising tensions and concerns thus far. But I am losing my patience as you make rote accusations, or need I remind you that the Rooks are no longer any viable threat? They’re all but done for, as it stands.”
Telum says, “We have all the information he has to give.”
Speaking to Telum, Marijka counters, “We have all the information he’s willing to give. Whether he HAS more to give… is another matter entirely.”
Speaking coolly to Cruxophim, Raelee says, “It has been a year and a half. A year and a half since my colleagues were killed. Since they were attacked by people standing right here. Then our plinite was taken and used to save your town.”
Pukk quietly says, “The puppet is done and has nothing more to say.”
(OOC) Telum’s player whispers to the group, “This is absolutely a ‘let me speak to your supervisor’ situation.”
Speaking coolly to Cruxophim, Raelee continues, “Eighteen months have passed and nothing has been done. Not by you, not by your predecessor.”
Speaking coolly to Raelee, Cruxophim reminds, “You act as if we have not suffered equal or worse casualties in defense of your… Outpost.”
Speaking to Raelee, Emindala asks, “Who here attacked your people??”
Speaking to Raelee, Emindala says, “I know these people, and almost to a man they were before these gates defending your people.”
The tingling sensation and sense of security leaves Dalabrac.
Speaking to Cruxophim, Raelee asks, “Eighteen months. How much longer do we have to wait if we cannot act on our own?”
Speaking dubiously to Raelee, Cruxophim curses, “Nothing has been done?”
Speaking to Thadston, Dirra asks, “What message do you mish me to send to my Liege, His excellency Baron Malwind?”
Thadston deeply says, “No message.”
Shinann says, “Of course not.”
Speaking stoically to Raelee, Cruxophim wonders, “Please tell me you are not serious.”
Speaking to Dirra, Marijka says, “His message seems clear. “Sit down and shut up while we do whatever we like.”.”
Speaking flatly to Cruxophim, you ask, “Is she ever not?”
Speaking to Dirra, Emindala says, “Tell them that Sir Thadston has been compromised and a replacement is requested immediately.”
Speaking to Raelee, Arnylon says, “How long have you been a member of the Hall? Has that not taught you patience, working new magics sometimes takes decades or longer. And you quibble over eighteen months? You shame yourself.”
Speaking evenly to Raelee, Cruxophim reminds, “Do you know how many Rooks I have personally slaughtered, in defense of the town?”
Daniels says, “He seems suspicious for no reason… this a solid bunch.”
Speaking softly to Dirra, Korsa exclaims, “Yes! ..that!”
Speaking to Thadston, Dirra says, “I am honour bound to report.”
Irar whispers to the group, “He’s avoiding my questions. He won’t discuss any details regarding the Prelate. Why?”
Ysharra says, “I believe the Magister is of the opinion that the Hall of Mages are often referred to as bothers in the least, and boogeyman to frighten children at their worse.”
Dergoatean whispers to the group, “He’s avoiding an awful lot.”
Speaking to Dirra, Shinann says, “By all means report. I encourage that.”
Dirra says, “I will then report as I witness.”
Speaking calmly to Raelee, Cruxophim states, “You do not kill the host to cure an infection. You treat it, carefully and patiently.”
Korsa whispers to the group, “‘I do not wish to discuss it”.”
Wintersylph softly asks, “You came here to judge us, to determine whether we meet your satisfaction of action, and then what, you rat to the empire?”
**Speaking to Cruxophim, Raelee says, “Do you not see? If you do not want them to do this… you need to show that something will be done. And I am not talking about killing the Rooks, or ending them. I do not care about that. I am talking about the plinite.”**
Korsa whispers to the group, “Getting kinda tired of that statement.”
Irar whispers to the group, “Why would he avoid that? It shouldn’t have anything to do with his operations, as far as I can tell.”

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Dennet Will Spare Us From Thadston ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Thadston deeply says, “We will do what is needed to defend imperial interests and squash threats. We will do absolutely everything in our power to minimize casualities. Do not do anything to jeopardize that.”
You reason, “I still don’t see why my idea the other night of having Quinshon locate the plinite seems off the table. He seems to have the perfect skill set for it.”
Speaking to Cruxophim, Raelee says, “But if you are going to tell us to keep waiting… you need to tell us what we are waiting for.”
Speaking quietly to Cruxophim, Pukk says, “You see the way she lead the expedition through the portal, many died while she watched and did not care.”
Speaking patiently to Raelee, Cruxophim concludes, “As I said, I am certainly amenable to action… but I will promise nothing without details.”
Kayse abruptly interrupts, “I have said three times to him we are making plans. He is not listening.”
Speaking quietly to herself, Marijka mutters, “Imperial interests can go hang.”
Speaking to Cruxophim, Daniels asks, “That literal or metaphor?”
Speaking wryly to Kayse, Cruxophim agrees, “No, he is not.”
Speaking to Thadston, Shinann says, “You will not enter the city for them.”
Speaking to Raelee, Emindala asks, “Maybe if we’re such a threat to you, you should stay within the Outpost’s walls?”
Speaking wryly to Daniels, Cruxophim admits, “Depends.”
Thadston deeply says, “I have nothing further to discuss. You’ve wasted far too much time on words, and I won’t see time wasting any longer.”
Thadston marches off.
Shinann says, “Of course not.”
Speaking to you, Dergoatean says, “Surely such a pile of powerful plinite would give off a detectable signal.”
Pukk quietly says, “Good riddance.”
Korsa softly says, “Of course not.”
Speaking baffledly to Dergoatean, you ask, “Right?”
Shinann steps through the iron portcullis.
Dalabrac says, “How…frustrating.”
Dazmar says, “Well then.”
Arnylon says, “Well we’ve listened.”
Kayse frustratedly says, “Dennet seemed to understand I was trying to move forward with a pla–“
Cruxophim whispers to the group, “I wasn’t able to detect anything… golemish from him, alas.”
Speaking to Dergoatean, you say, “But that’s not even my point, though…”
Dennet fades into visibility.
Arnylon says, “He has left.”
Marijka suggests, “Time to raze an outpost, I feel.”
Dennet frowns.
Speaking to Dergoatean, you say, “Quinsh–“
You glance at Dennet.
Korsa softly says, “It’s like talking to a brick wall.”
Dennet asks, “Was he always so…intense?”
Shinann just came through a black iron portcullis.
Arnylon says, “That was not Thadston.”
Speaking to Emindala, Raelee says, “Do not put words in my mouth that I did not utter.”
Speaking to Dennet, Osloe says, “You tell us…”
Dennet frowns.
Speaking softly to Raelee, Wintersylph says, “Lack of action does not give anybody the right to violate or sovern existance including our very laws.”
Speaking wryly to Dennet, Cruxophim informs, “Yes and no.”
Speaking to Marijka, Ysharra says, “It’s not Solhaven. It’s too far from the Bay for a true catastrophe on that level.”
Speaking to Dennet, Irar says, “Tense, but never so tight-lipped. About everything.”
Dennet says, “I will do my best to keep the Tide of Thadston at bay.”
Dennet nods at Cruxophim.
Shinann says, “I could not catch him to discuss further.”
Dennet nods at Kayse.
Dalabrac whispers to the group, “Good cop bad cop.”
Speaking sympathetically to Dennet, Cruxophim mutters, “Good luck.”
Dennet says, “If you are able to acquire the plinite in other means, I am certain that will quiet the beast.”
Speaking to Raelee, Emindala says, “I did not, I came to a logical conclusion from what you. . .said.”
Speaking softly to Dennet, Wintersylph says, “Liar, Liar.”
Speaking to Dergoatean, you conclude, “Quinshon would find the plinite even if it doesn’t have a signal since he can read minds. At least I would think…”
Speaking to Dennet, Ysharra asks, “How’s your son?”
Speaking surreptitiously to Dennet, Cruxophim remarks, “One hopes.”
Speaking calmly to Dennet, Kayse says, “I keep to my word. As I said you have someone we all want back. One of our own.”
Speaking quietly to Dennet, Pukk says, “Puppeteer….I mean Grand Magister, good evening.”
Madmountan says, “Sounded like an okay way to get it to me.”
Dennet says, “Recovering thank you.”
Speaking affably to Dennet, Cruxophim notes, “Excellent.”
Speaking to Dennet, Ysharra says, “You tell him I said hello and that I was pleased to hear that.”
Dennet nods at Ysharra.
Dennet says, “Of course.”
Dennet whispers something to Raelee.
Arnylon says, “It’s quite possible the plinite isn’t even within the area any longer. I’m sure such a valuable material would quite possibly be sold or smuggled for quite the profit to an outside bidder.”
Speaking regretfully to Dennet, Cruxophim laments, “It is a shame when the innocents get caught up in the struggles of their elders.”
Speaking softly to Dennet, Wintersylph says, “Seen many good guy, bad guy routines.”
Dennet says, “It is.”
Dennet nods at Cruxophim.
Speaking to Arnylon, Madmountan says, “I’ve been saying that. But Dennet says it’s still here.”
Pukk whispers to the group, “So Dennet controls Thad wish magic to make him overbearing and then comes out as a good guy so we will look favorably upon him?”
Dennet says, “Perhaps it is also something we can avoid.”
Speaking agreeably to Arnylon, you say, “All the more reason to catch a Rook or two for interrogation.”
Speaking to Arnylon, you clarify, “Magical interrogation.”
Speaking amicably to Dennet, Cruxophim agrees, “One hopes.”
(Raelee gives Dennet a look that is only mildly livid.)
Speaking to you, Marijka says, “I prefer the old-fashioned kind.”
Speaking to you, Arnylon says, “I leave the interrogations to those who hold interest in them. I merely leap to conclusions.”
Speaking amusedly to you, Cruxophim wonders, “You wish to interrogate the Rooks now?”
Goldstr whispers to the group, “So Thad and Dennet not here at same time! Doppleganger Ayep.”
Speaking slowly to Cruxophim, you ask, “…yes?”
Speaking to Dennet, Irar says, “Has he discussed much of his journey with you? He’s been frustratingly short on some rather important matters.”
Speaking calmly to Raelee, Cruxophim reminds, “I do hope that you understand the need for my earlier statements. You have always been reasonable to work with, of course, I hope that shall continue.”
Dennet says, “He has not.”
Speaking softly to Dennet, Korsa says, “Frustratingly short is an understatement.”
Dennet nods at Raelee.
Speaking to Irar, Arnylon says, “Faith comes from within, not a Prelate.”
Speaking evenly to Cruxophim, Raelee says, “… and I hope I have reason to continue.”
Daniels says, “I’d love to kill something… I just get urges.”
Speaking calmly to Dennet, Cruxophim reports, “I was not speaking falsely when I said that Rook activity has been at all-time low. This bodes well, methinks, for both of us.”
Speaking calmly to Raelee, Cruxophim agrees, “As do I.”
Speaking to Arnylon, Irar says, “You don’t need to lecture me on that. But I have important matters to discuss with him.”
Speaking to Raelee, Emindala says, “I hope you have reason to as well. . . .”
Speaking skeptically to Emindala, Raelee asks, “Do you?”
Speaking coyly to Daniels, Cruxophim mutters, “Ah, urges.”
Dennet says, “I hope whatever you have planned works.”
Dennet nods at Kayse.
Speaking to Irar, Arnylon says, “One sentence is hardly a lecture. If you have the time in tne near future I’d be happy to conduct one – a lecture, I mean.”
Cruxophim calmly agrees, “As do I.”
Dennet says, “I would prefer the plinite returned without one single drop of blood.”
Dennet says, “Or even sweat, to be truthful.”
Dennet chuckles.
Speaking wryly to Dennet, Cruxophim agrees, “Would be nice.”
Speaking to Raelee, Emindala says, “I believe in peaceful negotiation, but I will not back down when my people are threatened.”
Speaking to Dennet, Stiana says, “I’d like to know what you’ve done with my sister… Lornieh. She hasn’t been seen for over a day.”
Speaking vaguely to Dennet, Kayse says, “As long as the right things come into play.”
Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra says, “I would be very grieved to lose sight of you.”
Cruxophim dubiously jests, “Well, let’s not be hasty… maybe just one drop.”
Speaking measuredly to Dennet, Kayse adds, “I made a promise I intend to keep it.”
Speaking affably to Dennet, Cruxophim offers, “I have the report on judiciary matters, by the way… before it slips my mind.”
Speaking to Dennet, Stiana asks, “Well?”
Speaking to Dennet, Emindala asks, “And as to our little scheduling task?”
(Cruxophim pulls a sealed parchment out of his cloak, and hands it to Dennet.)
Dennet shrugs at Stiana.
Stiana frowns at Dennet.
Speaking softly to Dennet, Wintersylph asks, “Why did the rooks steal the plinite if not to sell it, do they have the arcane knowledge to research it or use it, or is there something you know that you havent told us?”
Dennet nods at Emindala.
Dennet says, “This week.”
Speaking to Dennet, Emindala says, “That’s what you said two days ago.”
Dennet says, “Rodnay is undergoing a series of advanced observations right now, and upon completion, I will arrange a meeting.”
Dennet nods at Emindala.
Dennet says, “I said this week. I can delay it, if you’d like.”
Dennet nods at Emindala.
Speaking quickly to Dennet, Kayse inquires, “Observations?”
Dirra asks, “Explain?”
Pukk quietly asks, “Advanced observations…….you looking at him with wider eyes?”
Speaking firmly to Dennet, Kayse reminds, “He better be returned to us as I requested.”
Speaking nonchalantly to Kayse, Cruxophim remarks, “He’s a… unique child.”
Dennet nods at Kayse.
Speaking to Dennet, Goldstr asks, “He startin to like like he works on da docks?”
Speaking to Dennet, Stiana says, “I hope for your sake nothing bad has happened to her.”
Speaking to Dennet, Emindala asks, “And if he is only being observed. . . .then how would my observation interefere?”
Dennet nods at Cruxophim.
Speaking quietly to Emindala, Pukk says, “That is because he is lying.”
Pukk glances at Dennet.
Ysharra glances between Dennet and Raelee.
Dennet says, “I will ensure your visit this week.”
Dennet nods at Emindala.
Emindala nods at Dennet.
Subarashi says, “I’ll be prepared as well, should I be needed.”
Speaking to Dennet, Ysharra asks, “And…any other visits by chance?”
Speaking softly to herself, Wintersylph says, “Can’t trust a Liar darling, once a liar always a liar, everything dey say is shrouded in lies, worse den riddles.”
Dennet says, “For Cyph? Yes Soon.”
Dennet nods at Ysharra.
Speaking to Dennet, Ysharra says, “I didnt say. But sure, let’s go with that.”
Dennet says, “I should retire for the evening.”
Speaking diplomatically to Dennet, Cruxophim says, “Evening, Grand Magister.”
Cryheart says, “Rest well.”
You diplomatically say, “The man did allow dozens of us to see Rodnay before when he hadn’t planned on it, so limiting his visitors now isn’t too unreasonable.”
Dennet says, “I will do all my best to keep Thadston at bay.”
Speaking wryly to Dennet, Cruxophim states, “As will I.”
Speaking to Dennet, Goldstr says, “Take care ayer family.”
Speaking softly to Dennet, Korsa says, “We are going to need a bit more than your best with them…”
Speaking softly to Dennet, Wintersylph says, “Goodnight Liar, Liar.”
Speaking to Cruxophim, Arnylon says, “Better you than me.”
Dennet smiles.
Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra asks, “You’re quite small, aren’t you?”
Speaking amusedly to Dennet, Cruxophim wonders, “I heard you had an undead army, by the way?”
Cruxophim flashes a quick grin at Wintersylph.
Speaking to Ysharra, Raelee asks, “What of it?”
Speaking lightly to Dennet, Cruxophim admits, “I am terribly jealous.”
Cryheart asks, “Shall we?”
Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra says, “You still cast a significant shadow.”
Pukk quietly says, “Undead army needs no feeding…well…except brains…”
Speaking teasingly to Ysharra, Cruxophim scolds, “No, you’re just exceedingly big.”
Dennet says, “Grand evening.”
Dennet gestures.
Dennet suddenly disappears.
Sir Cryheart’s group just went northwest.
