Place an assist so I can take a look at that shop in particular. Alternatively, give me a shop name (room names) and a town it belongs to and I’ll try to track it down. Oh, and the item too.

It’s not limited to just one or a few shops. I did a search on ps.lichproject.org for “crumble into dust.” Below are the first four results (i.e., the four cheapest items meeting the criteria). I also searched for armor and shields and found enhancive crumbly items.
a saw-toothed drake broadsword
It imparts no bonus more than usual.
It has been infused with the power of a fire elemental.
It provides a bonus of 3 to Max Stamina.
The broadsword looks to have a lot of charges remaining.
It will crumble into dust after its last charge is depleted.
It appears to weigh about 5 pounds.
It requires skill in edged weapons to use effectively.
It has been mainly crafted out of drake.
Icemule Trace Faraighn 15,000
a stone grey deringo runestaff
It imparts a bonus of +8 more than usual.
It provides a bonus of 3 to Harness Power Ranks.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 12 times.
The runestaff looks to have more than your average giantman could count charges remaining.
It will crumble into dust after its last charge is depleted.
It appears to weigh about 2 pounds.
It requires skill in twohanded weapons to use effectively. It appears to be a modified rune staff.
It has been mainly crafted out of deringo.
Ta’Vaalor Celanthil 25,000
a flanged mithril mace
It imparts a bonus of +5 more than usual.
It is weighted to inflict more damage.
It provides a bonus of 1 to Aura Bonus.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 4 times.
It provides a bonus of 2 to Constitution Bonus.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 7 times.
The mace looks to have a huge number of charges remaining.
It has been temporarily enhanced.
It’s enhancement will degrade when it scores a successful strike.
It should have an incredible amount of uses left before the enhancement degrades away completely.
When it’s enhancement has degraded away, the item will lose its special ability.
It will crumble into dust after its last charge is depleted.
It requires skill in blunt weapons to use effectively.
It has been mainly crafted out of mithril.
Four Winds Isle Kembal 25,000
a full-crescent steel crescent axe
It imparts no bonus more than usual.
It provides a bonus of 1 to Constitution.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 1 times.
The axe looks to have a lot of charges remaining.
It will crumble into dust after its last charge is depleted.
It requires skill in edged weapons to use effectively. It appears to be a modified handaxe.
It has been mainly crafted out of steel.
Wehnimer’s Landing Hevalt 35,000
