Ordim sat scratching his head as he stared down at the empty parchment in front of him. A feather quill gently bobbed up and down as he rhythmically flexed his fingers holding it.

Tell them what you saw, what WE saw, what we all saw

“It might not be true!” He blurted out in the direction of a nearly empty ink well. It offered no response.

TELL THEM WHAT YOU SAW, WHAT WE SAW, WHAT WE ALL SAW

Nudging a small tanik box with peeling red paint slightly aside, Ordim set about writing on the parchment in front of him.

Sir Mursilis,
I have spent a bit of time preparing a plan that I think might be effective should Chaston return with his Blameless army. Per our brief talk the other night, when Chaston was turned away by Baron Malwind, I have prepared a large stock of various noisy, bright and distracting fireworks of various colors and all stylized to appear as soldiers or warlords and chieftains. Perhaps this will help to prevent or break any sort of control over his army as we saw used on our citizens, but broken when he was distracted.

PS : Should the fireworks prove useless, at least they will provide a most agreeable backdrop to outright war.

The quill began to run dry, as if to reinforce the completion of the note. With a single nod and a furrowed brow, Ordim rolled up the note and set about sealing it with a bit of wax and pressed upon it his seal of a muffin split cleanly in half.

“I hope this works…” the words were spoken to the box just as much as they were to himself.

“I can’t help but feel something really bad is about to happen though.”

Ordim let out a slight sigh before inhaling on his pipe, the bowl glowing bright for a moment as the rush of air brought a mouthful of mint scented smoke to his tongue. Gazing around he blew out little smoke rings that floated out past him. Some of them spread out wider and wider until they became unrecognizable, others bounced into the wall and “poofed” out of existence, a single well-formed ring seemed to fit perfectly around the body of a bright green tube with a small bit of wrapped cord sticking out from it. The tube was one of many in a stack nearly as tall as the Halfling.
