Subj: Mayor's Minutes Final [RE: Hope Rises from the Darkness, The Fall of Rone: Apprehended and Revealed, and Many Thanks!]

Posted within the Lobby of Moot Hall is a Public Notice, written in pale ink on a glossy black parchment. The Notice is dated for the 31th of Charlatos in the Year 5118, and reads as follows:

Esteemed Citizens and Allies of the Landing,

The time has come, as eventually happens with most things, for my term as Mayor of Wehnimer’s Landing to come to an end. I am more than pleased to be succeeded by the exceptionally qualified Lylia Rashere Faendryl, and there is no doubt in my mind that she will rise to become one of the finest elected Mayors that the Landing has had to date. I wish her only the best in her endeavors, once the transference is officially complete, and as always…I will gladly be at the service of both her and the Landing in the following year and beyond.

Thanks to the consolidated and diverse efforts of many, it would seem, the wanted criminal known as “Rone” was finally apprehended late last evening. The arrest was preceded by the discovery of numerous corpses upon the Black Sands, where Rone initially arrived to decry any possible involvement in such. He then abducted Goblyn in much the same manner that he had absconded with me prior, leading to a showdown — befittingly enough — atop the roof of Moot Hall. He seems to have been restrained by various forms of blood magic of differing and perhaps even conflicting natures, potentially indicating the work of several independent parties operating in unison. Once all means of escape had been severed, removal of the mask revealed his identity to be that of Malluch Burdos, son of the gemshop proprietor, Murdos Burdos.

Malluch Burdos has been taken into custody to face proper justice in a court of law, under the sworn protection of Captain Stormyrain, thus finally concluding this matter. May the citizens of Wehnimer’s Landing now rest a bit easier in the light of day, and may those who have strayed from the path of righteousness under Rone’s sway find their way back once again… that faith in our laws and the order of our fair city be restored once more.

This will be my final public notice as Mayor, but it has been an honor and a privilege of the utmost distinction to serve our town in such a capacity for the last year. My humble and most sincere thanks to everyone who has placed their trust in me during this time, either through direct vote or through various other means of extended support; my thanks and gratitude as well, of course, to the Advisors who have served to aid me during this time. May we now move forward together, in the hopes of a new era of peace and enlightenment, while striving to remain vigilant against whatever the future may hold.
