Leafiara Writes To Cyph – And Makes A Copy

Leafiara writes a letter to Cyph, oh, wait, she wrote two. Considering her misgivings, maybe she should have written 5 more…

Subj: A crisp white parchment
With a letter in hand, Leafiara walked through the Hendoran outpost, its walls less imposing in the morning light than the night time visits she’d grown accustomed to. Forcing herself to step lively and with purpose, she at last stopped just in front of the guards at the inner portcullis and presented the parchment to one of them with a practiced smile.

Please see this letter to Cyph, if you would.”

Lord Cyph,

I wish to speak with you. And not about your affections, though perhaps we should speak about that too some time–in person, of course.

For now, I’m concerned about you as a friend, a person, and a new citizen of our town. If your memory issues are merely some mental problem then Quinshon could help, yes? If they are a physical problem as you recover, then your training and dedication should help–or maybe Ysharra knows of some herbal remedy for a scattered memory. If nothing else, Madmountan’s simple, practical idea of keeping a journal as your sister does will do wonders for now.

However, I believe your sister has done another thing recently that you should consider: seeking spiritual guidance. I’m certain Naimorai’s prayer session with Deacon Irar did her a world of good. A spiritual solution does not seem like the first thing that most of the people in your life would suggest, but perhaps it is the right thing.

Do let me know. I wish you the best.

-Leafiara

So many lies in so short a letter, she thought as she walked away, sighing. Still… poison made by one Arkati’s worshippers got him into this situation. Maybe another Arkati can salvage it–but who? Lumnis? Lorminstra?

No sooner had Leafiara re-entered West Gate than she withdrew another identical letter from her cape. She turned and headed in the direction of the militia barracks, her steps more casual. Just in case that other one doesn’t get past the Hall or Quinshon or not-Thadston… Or Dennet or Naimorai or whoever was spying on Shinann. What a mess…
