Subj: A crier unfurls a scroll…
A young crier marches into Town Center and unfurls a light scroll, calling for the attention of citizens and visitors alike. He announces in a squeaky voice:

“Mayor Nihala sends the following words to all:

‘I wish to thank the well-wishers and concerned citizens of our lovely, snowy town. I regret that I must pen a scroll at this time rather than visit Town Center personally. I am feeling better, though not completely recovered, after the events of a few nights past. I want to thank Enestrie for the delicious bread she prepared for me, as it continues to soothe my soul and warm my body. I also wish to thank Dirvy for her efforts at figuring out this strange ailment which seems to be associated with being near or holding this wretched tome. I have locked it again in a safe location until you, our town scholars, can examine it without fear of harm.

I am pressed to tell you that I am concerned about the whereabouts of Deputy Mayor Hibbits. After the invasion training tonight, he was supposed to return to my cottage so we could further discuss this riddle. Some guards reported to me that the town was attacked a bit unexpectedly, but that we defeated the… strange assortment of creatures who would otherwise overrun us. Hibbits has not returned to me despite his pledge, and my scouts could not locate him. Please report to me immediately through courier if you know where he can be found.'”

The crier clears his throat, looking around expectantly before rolling up the scroll and marching away.
