GM Kynlee Changes Sonic Raffles to Customization Raffles

GM Kynlee is cutting down on the Sonic Raffles for bards, and will open up more Customization raffles throughout the year. Starts in Feb, read all the details:

Beginning next month, there will be a change in how monthly sonic raffles are handled. Mainly, they will be monthly customization raffles, rather than strictly sonic raffles. While there will be fewer sonic raffles this year than there have been in previous years, there will be other customizations offered which will appeal to a wider variety of professions. I understand this will be a disappointment to those bards who aspire to fill out their custom sonics, but there will still be a total of 5 sonic raffles this year.

This is awesome! I’m hoping for a custom disk personally but am sure others will enjoy the wider variety of custom stuff we can see with the new and improved systems!

I am just curious why there have to be fewer sonic raffles, in order to offer customization options of interest to a wider audience? Not to throw them under the bus, but why is there no need to reduce the number of companion customization opportunities? Bards an rangers don’t get much love to begin with, and the six raffles/year in prime are pretty much the only way to get a sonic alter so I’m a bit sensitive to any reduction to an already very limited alteration opportunity. I am excited that a broader range of customization will be offered, I would be more supportive/excited if it did not seem to be at the expense of bards. There is a bottleneck with access to sonic alters and there are still lots and lots of bards trying to get their first, much less a second or third sonic alter I am confident the GMs are awesome enough to keep doing bard raffles and still offer other customization options, maybe on guild night.
Thank you for your efforts offering services, I hope my feedback does not seem overly pessimstic, but I felt the need to express my concerns.

I completely understand your concerns. I know who comes to the raffle each month, and who has yet to get anything altered. I know the disappointment when players come month after month and still can’t get something. I know the excitement when someone’s name is finally drawn. When I was given approval for this year’s batch of sonics, I was also given approval for seven other customizations, but I can only do a total of twelve. Since I do one service a month, I elected to spread the love, so to speak. Unfortunately, that does mean fewer sonics. We’re planning several events this year, so we’ll see if we can’t get some more sonic opportunities out for you guys.
