Subj: An Appeal to All Townspeople and Visitors to Icemule
Dirvy greets Jalodg as she steps outside of her home. She looks over the nine wooden perches that have been crudely assembled, and with a soft gasp, she asks, “How in the world did you manage to find nine of them?” Jalodg offers a secretive smile, then emits a confident shriek followed by a staggered chorus of shrieks from nine leucistic red-tailed hawks. Jalodg reaches forward and the foremost hawk hops from its perch to his outstretched arm.

Dirvy pulls a tightly rolled piece of parchment that has been tied with a bit of twine from her satchel, and reaches forward to lovingly brush the hawk’s snowy feathers. Jalodg holds the hawk up, displaying the bird’s taloned feet, and Dirvy leans forward to tie the small parchment onto one of its legs.

Jaldog releases the hawk; it immediately takes to the air with a mighty flap of its wings, and heads off towards its destination. The two then proceed to do the same with the eight remaining hawks, sending them off towards the major towns of Elanthia.

Jalodg turns to Dirvy and asks, “What isings these parchments for?”

Dirvy explains that the hawks were sent to Wehnimer’s Landing, Solhaven, River’s Rest, Teras, Zul Logoth, Ta’Illistim, Cysaegir, Ta’Vaalor, and Mist Harbor. She then pulls another scroll from her satchel, this one meant for Icemule, and hands it to Jalodg. Dirvy asks him to post this one in Town Center for all townspeople and visitors to see, and bidding her farewell, he makes his way from her home to Town Center.

Once in Town Center, Jalodg unfurls the parchment and affixes it to the mule statue, next to the one from Far Market. He moves back as a few people resting in the square gather around the statue. One tiny gnome in the crowd quietly squeaks, “I cannot sees it! What’s it say?” A burly cleric moves to the front of the crowd, and in a clear, deep voice, he reads…

>”In light of the recent troubles plaguing Icemule, I.C.I.C.L.E. is asking all visitors to be mindful of the magicks that are cast to combat invading forces.

>In the past couple of days, a number of deaths have resulted from friendly fire. This can be frustrating for the victims, the rescuers who move them to triage, and the empaths and clerics who are responsible for healing and resurrecting them. It is also incredibly frustrating for those who are fighting, because the more casualties we suffer, the less we have on the frontline fighting to restore order and keep the others safe.

>Because the fighting is primarily happening in Icemule’s Town Center, I.C.I.C.L.E. is asking everyone who comes to the aid of Icemule to not cast the following spells, unless absolutely necessary:

>- Divine Wrath (unless you are casting so that individuals will be unharmed)
>- Major Elemental Wave (regular Elemental Wave is fine)
>- Meteor Swarm
>- Nature’s Fury
>- Energy Maelstrom
>- Implosion
>- Stun Cloud
>- Death Cloud
>- Firestorm
>- Call Lightning

>Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated and will serve to strengthen the bonds between Icemule and your town, and help keep Icemule safe and welcoming to all visitors and townspeople.

>Sincerely,

>Dirvy Britbane
>Chairwoman of I.C.I.C.L.E.”

OOC NOTE: Casting AOE spells, as noted above, has caused some frustration with lower level players who are trying to participate in invasions. Not all creatures that are invading are capped, so lower level players are encouraged to help out when they can. There are also a number of players who, despite frequent warnings, like to rest in Town Center. These people may not be grouped with the invasion group, and fall victim to spells being cast that affect anyone outside of the main group. We are asking everyone to consider other players, before casting spells that may cause more harm than good in the longrun.
