To my cherished home of Ta’Vaalor,

King Qalinor has sent news of the unspeakable heist to my location by way of his most trusted emissaries. The events that our city has endured are beyond fathomable, and I deeply apologize to all those in the Legion, and the whole of the town, for my absence during the crime. I cannot help feeling my oversight would have been a valuable asset when the incident occurred, but I will do all I can to remedy the unacceptable situation we find ourselves in.

The contracts between Ta’Vaalor and the Guild of Chronomages have already been signed and sealed. With such matters settled for the next year, it is essential that we retrieve the airship. His Majesty has assigned me as the head investigator in the theft, as well as charged me with the task of returning the vessel to Ta’Vaalor. We must honor our commitments with the Chronomages. I take this new appointment very seriously, and I’m honored to accept the job. I vow that I will not let down our King, or our people.

Now is the time to cast aside wounded pride, and instead capitalize on our best chance to gather information about this treacherous leech. We will not again be given such a prime opportunity to discover more about the thief or his motives. For those who interacted with him directly over the last few days, a firsthand account may be more valuable than one realizes. Even minor facts may prove to be useful to the search at a later date. I welcome all citizens to submit a report, if you feel you have any pertinent details about the underhanded developments.

Esrine Muiray has temporarily pulled all other Chronomage envoys from Ta’Vaalor for their safety and protection, until we’ve fully resolved these matters. While I have established that the Guild does not have the ability to track the missing airship, they have provided us with the thief’s full name; Vagrance Birch. Their contacts in the Turamzzyrian Empire have verified that he is well-known as a charlatan within the region, and his actions are likely self-motivated. While the intelligence we’ve gained may not be overly comforting to the Elven Nations as a whole, we feel certain this is not an act of war exacted by the Empire. That still leaves in question what Vagrance hopes to gain from this strike against us, and I am dedicating myself to finding the answers at any cost.

I will return home immediately to assemble a support team and begin a full-fledged review.

Sincerely,

Air Commander Antonn Lithos
Feastday, the 16th day of Koaratos, in the year 5116
