A Journey and A Discovery – Rodyn Potion and Answers
A letter to Guildmaster Stark outlines the ingredients and process of the newly discovered Rodyn potion for magic items. In the following message, GM Viduus replies with some answers:

An initial portion of this investigation took a number of them to Illistim to discover old fragments of information – and then a trip to River’s Rest to procure half of a recipe for an alchemical mixture. Last evening I was present in Zul Logoth whereupon the persons by the name of Enestine, Sabotage, Joskin, and Paugen managed to procure the other half from a local. A skilled alchemist by the name of Fleurs was also present to perform the actual preparation of the mixture; without his aid this discovery (or rather, re-discovery) would not be possible. I consider myself fortunate to have been present to assist in documenting the event.
Herein is the formula for the rodyn potion, as presented to me:
Add water
Add 2 doses of ground ayana leaf
Add 2 doses of essence of water
Chant Charge Item
Add faintly shimmering dust
Infuse mana
Add a faintly glowing core
Boil(Ed. note: there may be a sealing step needed at the end of this; I will see what I can do to confirm.)
By now this discovery has already been disseminated to the other local alchemy-practicing guilds, although it is possible that the talents of a skilled Wizard may specifically be required; further experimentation may be necessary to confirm this. May the guild prosper with this knowledge!
Respectfully,
S.Y.

OOC:
The potion will convert any magic item into mage rechargeable items for a small window of time (60 seconds). During this time a wizard may use an orb prepared with Charge Item to charge the item using the same rules that merchants use for charging items – meaning no chance of failure.
Also, a couple good questions Fleurs had:
1 – “The faintly glowing core doesn’t currently alchemy examine as being an alchemy reagent. Now that they’re actually used in recipes, if they could be updated, that would allow the alchemy/gem jars to recognize them for jarring and easier storage which would be great.”
2 – “Also, I’m curious if this temporary mage recharging status causes the item to degrade its maximum charge capacity, as the original announcement about merchant recharged items said. I wonder only because it says this potion functions under merchant recharging guidelines, so was just curious since it’s not a permanent mage rechargeable.”

Sealing is always required for completing alchemy recipes.

Covered in the post above, the “faintly glowing core” description is being changed to “an iridescent glowing core”

The item’s capacity will degrade. It will begin degrading after the second charge session.
