3.5 Hours of Storyline on Multiple Fronts

Saturday Night In the Landing: It was a huge cast of characters on multiple fronts in over 3 hours for a ratings-war-style spectacular evening. TownCrier Correspondent Leafiara saw part of it, and gives us a bullet points post on the Officials. I’ll be out of breath just naming the major stars! She invites people to contribute what they experienced, she could be in only one place at a time.

Disclaimer: My bullet points are definitely not complete and probably aren’t even 100% accurate. So please, if you have anything to add or correct (that you believe should be added or corrected), then chip in!

* Sand is spotted outside the mayor’s office, guiding people to Teuriz

* Before the group finds Teuriz, golems are noticed to be leaving the outpost and dispersing in several directions

* Near Melgorehn’s Reach, Teuriz begins a ritual to take people to the shadow realm to rescue Acorn, using the help of Evia who had a connection to a shadow realm because of past history

* Teuriz stresses that they should only rescue Acorn and then escape and explains that they’ll weaken Quinshon, but not kill him, and that Quinshon “must endure” because one day “We will stand as brothers, side to side, against the Blood God.”

* Hooded figures are seen moving along rooftops in the Landing…

* …but before anyone can investigate, Teuriz transports the group to a cavern, searching for an “echo” of a past battle.

* Images of past battles flash by and eventually he approves of an image of Aralyte, a Palestra Blade.

* The group enters the shadow realm, but meanwhile…

* Drakehealius and Wintersylph report over the amunet that Hendoran knights and golems are going through the tunnels beneath town; Wintersylph further reports that Thadston and others were with them and that Thadston killed her [yes, the amunet was still possible to hear in the shadow realm; also, Wintersylph seemingly reported Rysus being killed, but much later in the night retracted that and it was only Rooks]

* At Stormyrain’s lead, a small-ish group returns from the shadow realm to investigate what’s going on in the Landing tunnels [and Leafi was one of them, so someone else will have to fill in what happened in the shadow realm]

* Bandits, Rooks, and knights confront Stormy’s group in the tunnels, though they opt to engage only the bandits [at least I think the bandits were supposed to be different from Rooks, possibly just riled-up townspeople, especially since Stormy gave the go-ahead to attack them but then said not to engage when we later saw masked figures who clearly were Rooks]

* Eventually Stormy’s group locates Thadston and a group of people in a chaotic scene–Thadston’s group allied with knights and golems against Rooks and bandits. Thadston’s group finds a chest, but instead of plinite, fake dyed gold coins are inside.

* Stormy asks for an explanation of an unauthorized attack in the tunnels; Thadston counters that the tunnels aren’t in Landing jurisdiction and they did what was needed

* Thadston claims the plinite was there not long ago

* Stormy’s group returns to Teuriz, where Acorn has been rescued and is with Bekke

* As Teuriz is closing the curtain to the shadow realm, several adventurers are very nearly trapped inside, and seemingly of their own will [staying behind to try and save Aralyte, as best I could tell, but I might be wrong], but make it out alive

* Across the Landing, people feel pressure between their eyes and a mysterious voice saying that it was bled for “him” and “her” and “now I will bleed them for you” [seemingly Rodnay, but with Teuriz and Quinshon also technically part of the night’s events, this is up in the air]

* Shortly afterward, chaos breaks out in the outpost as Hendoran soldiers turn against one another in battle and bloodshed

* The reunited group goes to the outpost, where Naimorai is seen frightened and being held by Hendoran soldiers on the rooftop

* Many of the people with access to the outpost rush to the rooftop–or possibly were already there in a couple of cases–but the voice in people’s minds fades and Naimorai is released, then escorted off

* The portcullis is opened to all, but before anyone can sort out what has happened, a runner arrives asking the mayor to meet in his office

* Back at the mayor’s office, Stephos appears and says that he has a package for the mayor that can be delivered when and where the mayor determines

* Stephos adds that the plinite is now in his possession and will let Raelee look at it for a price

* Stephos says, “Oh, I believe we should usher in a new age of transparency Mayor.”

Wow, I picked a bad night to work! Thanks for another great recap. I look forward to hearing more from the shadow realm folks.

She can look but not touch, someone else has claim to that! 😉

Couple minor updates for more details:

* The black veins on Evia didn’t disappear after she helped Teuriz open the curtain to the shadow realm, nor at any time during the night (at least that I saw). Lylia noted much later in the night that most but not all of the people who entered the shadow realm the first time (way back when) had lost those black veins.

* OOC: The more I think about it, the bandits in the tunnels probably were Rooks (and the masked figures were magic-using Rooks) and Stormy just OOC didn’t realize that? I honestly have no clue, but it would explain why Thadston and company were attacking them. I thought they were Rooks from the beginning, so Leafi didn’t want to engage them.

* OOC: I hesitate to name most people who were part of Stormy’s group or Thadston’s. I didn’t leave them out just because I didn’t want to go through a 3-hour log at 1:30 AM Pacific. Won’t say much more than that.

* OOC: But being tired was the reason I left out the names of the group lingering in the shadow realm. Aurach named in his post: Alasatia, Aurach, Cruxophim, Goblyn, Lisbethany, Lylia, Mystiq, and Wolfloner. Based on the room description before and after Lylia’s group returned, I think Ysharra had stayed behind too. Also, Goblyn stayed behind even longer than the rest of them.

* Cruxophim looked tired and drained after leaving the realm.

* New black veins weren’t spotted on anyone after this foray. (At least not yet or at least not that I know of.)

* For clarity’s sake, most people think the mysterious voice was using mind control to turn Hendoran soldiers against each other. Here are the descriptions:

Suddenly, chaos breaks along the stone ramparts of the Hendoran Outpost. There is an uproar and a chorus of screams and the echo of metal clashing and bones breaking as Hendoran soldiers suddenly turn on each other, slaughtering one another as if locked in a horrible battle!

The night is alive with the sound of battle, as Hendoran soldiers engage along the stone ramparts. Some are cleaved in half by their fellow man, others are thrown from the walls and land to their death on the courtyard below. Others are impaled on spikes, spears and swords. A curtain of blood pours from the walls of the Outpost.

From the walls of the Outpost, soldiers still battle each other. One knight tips a vat of hot oil, burning some squires and stablehands in the courtyard below. A blue-robed imperial mage tries to flee from a telescope on a rampart, and a soldier hurls a spear into his chest. Blood and chaos ring out.

From along the walls of the Outpost, the conflict begins to break apart, as some soldiers come to their senses and flee from the fight.

Suddenly, on the rooftop of the Hendoran Outpost, a black-haired woman appears. Naimorai appears frightened, her arms held behind her by two Hendoran soldiers. They move her to the edge of the wall.

Suddenly, the two soldiers holding Naimorai release her and they slump to the ground. Naimorai remains standing, and soon other soldiers rush in and escort her off.

Nestled among the shadows of the main tower of the Outpost, Sir Thadston stands, almost motionless, watching as many of the knights are carried off, some gravely wounded, others now bloodied corpses. Behind him, stands a wall of rune-carved black golems, almost invisible against the backdrop of night.

* One person in Thadston’s group down in the tunnels who I will mention was Raelee, who despite being unwilling to talk about the events in the tunnels in detail did eventually say one thing that might be important. Ahe end of the night, in the mayor’s office…

Speaking calmly to Raelee, Cruxophim requests, “Care to add to this?”
Speaking to Cruxophim, Raelee asks, “… what do you want to know?”
Speaking amusedly to Raelee, Cruxophim states, “Whatever you can offer about what transpired.”
Speaking to Raelee, Shinann says, “Yes, I am very confused why you would go with Thadston when you knew that was not Thadston.”
Speaking to Shinann, Raelee says, “… because that is what the Grand Magister wished for me to do.”

So no argument that it’s really Thadston or that she doesn’t know it’s not him, but only a claim that the Grand Magister wished her to help Thadston.

Both the bandits and the figures were Rooks.

Subj: "Iebri lovib keke"
Mayor,

I regret I was unreachable from my study on Coral Island last night. However, I have have gathered some first-hand accounts, including Teuriz’ mention of the Blood God. Given my responsibility as advisor on languages, I thought I should investigate.

Think back to the apparent introduction we witnessed between the Kol’Tarsken Ithzir and an unknown party, some months ago.

==”Tiu zom rome. Iebri lovib keke. In-gtomtei huieb. Fizum mu teur.”==

To this point, we believed the speaker to be Grishom Stone. However, looking at my notes more carefully I’m not so sure we have solid evidence.

In any case, note the sentence “Iebri lovib keke.” — I am the Master of Blood.

Possible translations of the entire line include:
“Greetings, sun land. I am the Master of Blood. Let’s trade power. See the heavens.”
Or, if we take slight license on our known Tehir pronounciations, the first sentence could be: “Geetings from a sandy land.”

As we know, Grishom Stone has occupied a rather sandy land for some time now – the Sea of Fire. We may have already heard this Blood God once before, whether or not it’s an identity performed by Stone.

Regards,
Goat

Am I right in reading that Thadston killed Wintersylph? If so, wow. I picked quite the night to go off partying!

That’s what she claimed initially. I’m pretty sure there was also a different point where she said “they” killed her, though, so maybe she didn’t mean Thadston directly but his forces.

Either way, I’d recommend asking her to clarify in-game, Deacon!

I’m only half in the loop in recent weeks, but I would point out with “Blood God” that the Half-Krolvin worship the “Gods of Blood”, the chief of which is Khar’ta:

“We kneel first before He who rules the oceans, the powerful Khar’ta. His temper is like the waves and by his grace, we possess the right to know every swell and journey beyond the stone beaches of our home. He is of the Three Face; that who reaches to the highest mountain, he who walks the sands of the depths, and she, the destroyer of Tyrants. He will be one or three, and to him we bow in submission. For the four corners of the seas, we gather every four months and offer our thanks for raising us above the Blood before his eyes.”A Short Primer on Half-Krolvin Society and Faith, Fentol Braunich 5109 M.E.

Much more importantly, the phrase in Tehir was: “Iebri fiier gir eizh.” Literally, “I am veil black death.” This clearly means that Xorus has been behind everything that has happened all along, because the surname he uses means “shadow of death” in Iruaric. Rodnay is well-aware of his names, that’s why he calls him Dreadlord.

Proof: Xorus’ voice rattles in a metallic tone, “I am shadow of death, Kron’khaal shall inherit the world when swallowed by the reach of darkness.” (8/15/5117)

Well, not much to be added from me, except to say that the second visit ended early for Hapenlok, when his soul was nearly separated from his body again, and instead of blue-black hair, he now has steel grey hair, and has physically aged about 15-20 years. and is now, like the previous time…aged greatly.

So, he wound up back in town, weakened, and shortly after all the fun ceased with the Hendorans.

More to follow…

What a night, amirite?!?!

>>Either way, I’d recommend asking her to clarify in-game, Deacon!

At this point, I think we all need Jesu– I mean, uh, Koar

Additionally, it’s been debunked that Rysus was killed during the incursion with the Rooks and Thadston‘s forces… which was also a rumor for a minute, and I’m glad it’s untrue, because I really need more heads as trophies.

Additionally additionally, it seems I’m going to have some serious competition for the title of Blood God… I’d better get crackin’!!

>>Thadston says, “Stand down Baron, and your men. Or I swear to Koar, Liabo, Lornon, Cruxophim, I will release your daughter and watch her die right here.”
>>Stormyrain evenly asks, “Did you just make Cruxophim a god?”
