To kick off 2026, we are implementing significant updates to treasure and experience gain.  While we anticipate some changes will be more popular than others, these adjustments are necessary for the long-term health of the game.

Treasure Updates

To address the impact of automation and balance the economy – where the top 5% of earners currently account for 27% of all treasure generated – we are making the following changes:

  • Monthly Treasure Cap: The soft cap is being reduced from 15 million to 10 million.  Treasure gain is gradually reduced between 10 and 15 million, then set to 1% for any gain thereafter.  There no longer is a hard cap.  This resets monthly per account.
  • Pawnshops: The maximum value for a single item is now 25,000 silver (down from 35,000).
  • Cap Exemptions: Treasure from quests and paid events is no longer exempt from the cap.
  • Gems: Certain gem rarities and values have been adjusted.
  • Player Locksmith Pool: A fee is being added that is significantly lower than the NPC locksmith rate.  Additionally, F2P characters are no longer eligible to use the player locksmith pool.

Treasure Boxes: Box drop rates are reduced by 2/3, but the output per box is increased 3x.  Finding a box will be more rewarding, and disarming/lockpicking experience will increase 3x to offset the lower frequency. Locksmith Mastery reps have also been reduced by 2/3.

  • Locks and Keys: the drop rate of locks and keys have tripled.

Experience and Progression Updates

To modernize progression and make the journey to level 100 more accessible, we are increasing experience gains:

  • Gift of Lumnis Tiers: New 5x and 4x tiers are being added, providing 29,200 and 21,900 bonus experience respectively, for a total of 51,100 bonus experience available weekly.
  • Temple Donations: To unlock the new Gift of Lumnis tiers, characters must donate 250,000 silver to the Temple of Lumnis (LUMNIS DONATE) weekly.  You may prepay for multiple weeks.  This verb will eventually be replaced by local NPCs.,
  • Fash’lo’nae’s Tutelage: A new SimuCoin item will be available during major events. It provides a 5x multiplier for up to 100,000 bonus experience per week, activating once the Gift of Lumnis ends.  It will cost 3,500 SimuCoins and lasts for 90 days.,
  • Experience Multiplier Scrolls: Experience scrolls will no longer be multiplicative with other modifiers, but they will remain additive.,
  • Profession Resources: Resource gain is moving away from direct experience.  Characters will now gain 50 resource points per pulse if they absorb at least 10 field experience.  This requires approximately 15 hours of weekly playtime to maximize.,
  • Legacy Reward: To honor those who reached level 100 under the original system, existing capped characters will receive the title “Legendary Lord/Lady.” If you are currently logged in, you need to log out and log back in for this title to become available.

We will continue to monitor these changes and tweak them if necessary.  We ask that you consider these updates from the perspective of the overall game environment.  If you wish to provide feedback, please do so here in a civil and constructive manner.
