Wyrom Proposes Early January Date for Big Silvers Auction

NEWS: PM Wyrom reveals that the upcoming silvers auction already has over 100 items. Instead of crowding it into the holiday season, he is considering a first weekend in January date for it, with auction mechanics like the Grand Auction of 2016 (coins/note on you when you BID, no coin hands or other coin containers taken into consideration). There are no previews yet, but wow, this is sounding epic!

The original plan was to have the auction in December. We can still do that, but… I’m thinking we might have a better chance at max participation with players if we don’t pack it into the holiday stretch. The weekend I was thinking about doing was the 27th and/or 28th, but historically we don’t see a lot of people around being able to play between Xmas and NYE. Hanukkah also overlap the 20th if we wanted to go a little earlier. So I’m thinking we plan it out the gates of 2026 on January 3rd and/or 4th. We will be using the silver auction mechanics from EG 2006, 2009, and Grand Auction of 2016. There is a live auctioneer, but everything is listed and the game randomly chooses items.

We have over 100 things for the auction. Some stuff has been debuted already at other events. Some stuff are services or things that already exist. In that 100 there are some duplicates. We will have a hype post coming soon.

But I wanted to see how people felt about January 3rd. I think it’s a better plan. This is only because I don’t want to exclude people who travel and do a lot of family things around the holidays. The auction is ready to go.
