Mayhem Master Wyrom posts the finals from CCF – Close to 20 billion silvers went POOF last weekend in Prime. 1 billion in Plat. He mentions at the end of the post that this will conclude the Coraesine Field/Forest events.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who made it out. I know it was a bit chaotic with the crashes. Hoping we’ll be able to learn from it all and make experiences with 125+ people in one room better.
We drained close to 20 billion silver in Prime. It’s possible for that number to be a bit higher if some data was lost during all “fun pauses” on Saturday. We drained over 1 billion in Platinum.
I’d like to thank GMs Haliste and Thandiwe for assisting me with the grounds. While the services were the focus, the big thing for me was creating an area that captured the essence of what happened to Coraesine Field. I hope the area leaves a lasting impression of cause and effect.
Approvals were made by GMs Coase, Estild, Kaikala, Tamuz, Galene, and Wyrom.
Platinum’s weekend was made possible by GMs Haliste, Thandiwe, Tamuz, Naionna, Skhorne, Kaikala, and Wyrom.
Prime’s weekend was made possible by GMs Haliste, Thandiwe, Aiza, Galene, Mazreth, Necios, Kaikala, Kenstrom, Elidi, Tamuz, Naionna, Lydil, Valyrka, Elysani, Mariath, and Wyrom.
Special thanks to the GMs who helped out in the background, whether it was tackling a bug or dealing with the crashes.
This will conclude the Coraesine Field/Forest events.

The words Coraesine Field/Forest conjure up fantasies of riches and unobtainable magic. For me the modern day Jugg, yet far more rare. I’m glad I was able to attend my first Coraesine event.
Wyrom your post suggests an end. This too shall pass, and history forgotten as we all move on. Not yet! Thanks to all who helped forge the moment.

I thought the GM merchants did well handling the chaos. Fun event even thought I blew my wad of silvers about 7 services into it. 🙂

A two thumbs up to all you GM’s who put this together. Even with the crashes, and some turmoil you guys kept the ship afloat and cruising in the right direction.
I had a blast and a lot of fun and lost a lot of sleep.
Looking forward to the next event.

Didn’t win anything but if nothing else getting some smithy services was worth going. I’m glad you let the smithy be open. Everything seemed to be priced fairly reasonably except the weight reduction. I liked how the merchants were quick to take people away who won and made it difficult for people to sell their spot.

Is “close to 20 billion” services only, or services and smithy?

I was really happy to be able to attend, and was thrilled with the smithy services I got. Also some of the GMs did a great job RP’ing their merchants, which was a real treat to behold.
Now that we know that 20 billion silvers were taken out of circulation, any chance you’ll reveal how many silvers are still in circulation? Enquiring minds would really like to know!

“The Great Auction of 2016 drained just under 13 billion silvers.” — Wyrom, August of 2017
So in a year and a half, TWO events have taken ~33 billion silvers out of the game.
I’d be curious to hear how much the various WPS smithy services have taken out? (Obviously excluding CCF here–where it was wrapped in with that total–and bloodscrip.)

>>Re: Current silvers
It’s not easy to track the overall total. Tools weren’t set in place early on for us to really review or track it. At one point, we drained a huge chunk of the online wealth, but we don’t know how much were on offline characters. For example, after a few 100 million services hit, we would see people log on and hand off 100s of millions to people who spent silver.
Here’s a drainage breakdown:

Personally, I’m intrigued by the fact that Padding is (by silver volume) 10x more desirable than Weighting–despite the fact that padding has been available all along (through Premium Points, if nothing else)–and folks can only use a single armor at a time (as opposed to different weapons for different creatures [vulnerabilities or relevant flares]), and not even taking into account Two-Weapon styles.
On the other hand, this is probably also indicative of people taking already-padded items and dumping even more onto it [so, higher price per Service], whereas weighting is at least moderately likely to be starting from scratch.
.
.
And, to be clear: THESE thirty billions of silvers, are entirely separate from the previously-accounted-for ~33 billions of silvers, correct?

These numbers are quite surprising. Thanks for providing them. Makes me wonder what some people are doing though as the numbers make it seem that people are spending a lot on a single item during same service window. Example:
February 2018 in prime shows only Culd offering 25 people up to 5 services for silver. I don’t see any other offering (could be missing something). The totals for February are 1,045,772,000 for weighting and 9,260,314,000 for padding. So a total of 10 billion silvers for those 25 people? That seems like a ridiculously high amount for only 25 people to have spent. Either people are nuts with tons of silver to throw away or I’m missing something.
Either way, fun to look at the numbers.

Service counts in February were way higher than 25 individuals, and a good chunk of people who did 25 services in February also did 25 in January. February is a tough month to look at because Duskruin also shows up in the counts. We’re definitely offering these services quite a bit though beyond just the calendar listings.

10x is a bit more then I would have expected, but with weighted weapons being unblessable, I’m not really surprised that padding is more sought after. Esp since nearly everyone wears armor of some sort (even if it’s ASG 0), but there’s a huge number of characters that don’t attack with weapons… though a new type of weighting for runestaffs that increases the potency of spells would be awesome….

Weighted weapons are blessable, although the heavier the weighting the harder it is (and the less time the bless lasts). Still, if you have the ability to bless your own stuff, the penalty may be worth it.

Hhhmmm…. the Bless page on the wiki needs updating then. The pure potion and Symbol of Blessing pages too if it’s not just the cleric spell that works this way.

“Weapons with critical weighting or damage weighting may be blessed by a sufficiently skilled cleric with reduced efficiency. Any weapon assessed at heavy or higher weighting will require an extremely skilled cleric to bless, if it is possible at all.” — https://gswiki.play.net/Bless_Item_(304)
You’re right that the Symbol of Blessing page needs updating. I know someone is doing research now into how different levels of weighting reduce the number of swings you get, so maybe that can get incorporated at the same time.

I am still in favor of a version of sighting that makes you more likely to lob bolts at the head area.
