*Friday Night, Marshall Thrayzar brought a lot of news to the Landing of what’s happening, being said, and being done in the Empire. And something to make you go “Hmmmm!” at the end about Baron Malwind:

Last night, Thrayzar filled us in on the latest news from various Imperial territories. Here’s a transcript of what he recited to the crowd in front of Moot Hall:

“The Baron of Bourth’s son has sent a direct request to Prelate Chaston Griffin, who serves as interim Northern Sentinel, to issue a demand that Sir Thadston Andrews, Commander of the Hendoran Outpost near Wehnimer’s Landing, immediately release Baron Spensor Caulfield who is said to have been apprehended and locked away in the outpost’s dungeons. The Baron’s son has also demanded Sir Thadston be captured and brought to trial for his treasonous act against a noble an ruling house of the Turamzzyrian Empire.”

“In addition, because of the recent revelations about a half-elven rebellion, and the race of Lady Larsya’s would-be killer, the Baron’s son has immediately suspended trading with the elven, half-elven and sylvan communities along the fringes of the Wyrdeep Forest. Furthermore, the city of Gallardshold, capital of Bourth, has initiated a new series of campaigns to help round up any members of the anti-empire half-elven group known as Gallard’s Guardians, on suspicion of their role in the recent rebellions. Others speculate that the actions are more driven by fear of the recent outbreak of the Black Blood blight that has begun to inflict half-elves all across the Empire.”

“In Jantalar, Baroness Delphinuria has called for a state of tolerance and patience all across Jantalar and issued a stark command to her subjects that the mistreatment of life in Jantalar is not one that will be tolerated, and a return to the dark days of the Barony would never again happen. She has encouraged all Jantalarians to not let fear cripple their daily lives and has expressed condolences for the half-elven population facing what appears to be the beginning of a possible epidemic. Meanwhile, the Baroness has decreased the flow of weapons being sold to the Barony of Talador, citing the current unrest and unorthodox situation surrounding Prelate Chaston Griffin, and the absent Earl Jovery. The Baroness has also dispatched word to the Sun Throne, seeking to have matters investigated and resolved, claiming the Northern Provinces are at odds and facing uncertain times, which makes all of the Empire vulnerable to its enemies.”

“In Talador, there has been an influx of recruits who have joined either the Taladorian army, or the host of the Blameless, each new zealot taking the scar of duty and the blood of atonement. Half-elves and half-krolvin have been officially outlawed in all of Talador and just recently a small village on the outskirts of Talador faced a near slaughter. The village consisted of dwarves, half-elves, and some half-krolvin. The dwarves were left alone, but most of the half-elves were captured, and the half-krolvin were all slaughtered. In addition, despite the new decrease in weapons supplies to Talador, a number of shipments are still already in route, funneling into the Barony.”

“In Mestanir, a dark cult to Mularos was discovered in the capital of Mestanir and they were systematically slaughtered, their bodies dragged out into the streets, their bloodied talisman and scars as evidence to the people. Blameless zealots took it a step further and hunted down the known relatives of the cultists and massacred them as well, even the young and infirm. Baron Seurdyn Chydenar of Mestanir has agreed to increase the region’s intolerance and persecution for the followers of Lornon. The Baron cites his concerns about the destruction that came about from the War of Shadows and wanting to prevent another onslaught from occurring at the hands of minions of darkness.”

“In North Hendor, many in the region are still in shock at the ousting of Earl Jovery, and Lolle is divided. Many townspeople have spoken out and risen to arms to defend Prelate Chaston, while pockets of resistance exist within the city and rumors claim they seek to locate the whereabouts of the Earl before he is to stand trial. Additional fortifications have sprung up within Mensyl Keep and its surroundings settlements, and it’s been reported that Hendoran spies from the Keep have been spotted on the outskirts of Lolle, observing the activity and likely vulnerabilities of the capital during this time of ambiguity.”

“In Vornavis, many soldiers and knights have returned to the territory in the recent day, recalled from their stations in Mestanir and beyond where they helped deal in restoring stability and peace in some areas after the War of Shadows. The return of soldiers is part of Vornavis’ build up to help protect the region and be prepared for any offensive measures needed. One item of note, however, is that Baron Malwind has not been seen in three days.”
