Ta’Vaalor’s Dealings With Western Leaders
After a historic meeting between Ta’Vaalor and the Mayors of two western cities, the Ta’Vaalor Town Criers are busy. Icemule Trace will allow movement of Ta’Vaalor troops through. Wehnimer’s Landing agrees to talk some more about the sovereignty of that little Elven Village.

Let it be formally known that a military accord has been reached between the city-state of Icemule Trace and the elven House of Vaalor allowing for the free movement of Vaalorian troops through Icemulian territory and airspace from this day forth!”
Reading from a scroll, he continues with the particulars,
“In a meeting between Icemule Trace’s Mayor Tawariell and High Lord Chamberlain Retassal, a military accord was agreed to in principal allowing movement of Vaalorian troops through any territory, or airspace, controlled by Icemule Trace. This agreement was struck as a show of contrition and recompense for several slights against Vaalorian delegates by representatives of the western city-state. High Lord Chamberlain shook the Mayor’s hand and thanked her for the positive move in relations between the two entities.”
Deftly switching scrolls, the crier recites,
“In other news, the High Lord Chamberlain met with the Mayor of Wehnimer’s Landing, Lylia to discuss longstanding slights against House Vaalor and the elven nations as a whole. Expressing her desire to repair relations, and make recompense for actions heretofore ignored by the small Western frontier town, Mayor Lylia respectfully informed the High Lord Chamberlain that it was not within her sole authority to transfer the sovereignty of parcels of land, but would need to meet with the Town Council. This was in response to the High Lord Chamberlain’s statement that nothing less than the return of the settlement known as the Elven Village to Vaalorian control and sovereignty would atone for the previous attacks upon the fortress by Wehinmer’s landing. The Mayor expressed optimism at the prospect.
The High Lord Chamberlain expressed his gratitude for the delegates’ attendance, as well as hope at improved relations between the principal states involved.”

Chairs arranged in concentric circles radiate out from the center of this spacious circular chamber. A clear area approximately fifteen feet wide directly in the center provides ample space for speech-giving, pontificating, lecturing, or whatever activity might need to be done in front of a large audience. Elegant tapestries sewn in a red and gold pattern drape the walls and ceiling to dampen the echo from the red marble floor. A set of walnut double doors allows exit to the lobby.
Retassal says, “Would someone allow the Mayors in please.”
Retassal says, “Mayors only.”
Retassal says, “No retainers please.”
Speaking in Elven, Retassal says, “It is a pleasure to have both of you within our fair fortress this evening. So rarely do we get visitors from the west, that I am afraid you may be a bit of a novelty.”
Speaking kindly in Elven to Retassal, Tawariell says, “It is most certainly a pleasure to be here in your beautiful city.”
Speaking in Elven, Retassal says, “It is a pleasure to be able to conduct this in a more elegant tongue as well.”

I am nae certain of the situation, or its particulars, but I know there was great offense to Vaalor and I know I mentioned it in the letter… However I would like to apologize in person, we are deeply sorry, for the actions of the offenders.”
Speaking in Elven to Tawariell, Retassal says, “Your apologies are appreciated and speak well of you as a leader.”
Speaking in Elven to Tawariell, Retassal says, “If you would, we may speak of the offenses and some remedies.”

Additionally, one member in particular has taken it upon herself to openly insult My Sovereign, His Majesty King Qalior Vaalor the Sovereign Commander of the Crimson Legions, openly within our fortress.”
Speaking in Elven to Tawariell, Retassal says, “Despite cautions and reprimands from guards on duty, the insults continued until the guard captain was nearly consulted.”
Speaking in Elven, Retassal says, “This, of course, is unacceptable behavior.”

Speaking in Elven to Tawariell, Retassal says, “Now then, in our society, as it should be in all, an organization is only as good as its leaders. And as such, good leaders are responsible for the actions of their subordinates.”
Speaking in Elven to Tawariell, Retassal says, “Your gracious words, excellent protocol, and thoughtful gift do you credit. I wonder though…”
Speaking in Elven to Tawariell, Retassal says, “House Vaalor will accept the following as recompense for the offense given. A military accord with the community of Ice Mule Trace allowing free and permanent military access and troop movements of Vaalorian Legions through your lands.”

Speaking curiously in Elven to Retassal, Tawariell says, “If I knew who the offender was, I would.”
Speaking in Elven to Retassal, Tawariell admits, “As far as I was told, the offender has already disappeared.”
Speaking in Elven to Tawariell, Retassal says, “At this time, the Crown does not wish to establish a permanent outpost, simply the abilty to move troops through your lands unhindered.”

Speaking in Elven to Retassal, Tawariell says, “I will agree to these terms and happily, in good faith, remove the offender. I will also allow the movement of your troops though Icemule Trace and surrounding lands. However, I ask that your troops treat my citizens without harassment, and that Icemuleans, per’aps be a little more welcome, in Vaalor. That is my hope.”
Speaking in Elven to Tawariell, Retassal says, “I can speak for the troops behavior in your lands. You will have no issues there. I, sadly cannot change every Vaalorian’s mind or heart. I will put forth that My Sovereign has been welcoming of all in recent years.”
Speaking in Elven to Tawariell, Retassal says, “I believe your apologies will go further to changing their treatment here than any accord.”
Speaking in Elven to Tawariell, Retassal says, “Then we are agreed. We can have our scribes work out the lesser details.”
Speaking confidently in Elven to Retassal, Tawariell agrees, “We are agreed.”

Speaking in Elven, Lylia replies, “Recompense is something I am certain I can offer, and I shall finish what others may have started.”
Speaking in Elven, Retassal says, “Some years ago, a representative of your frontier town, one Lord Barnom Slim, approached our gates with demands of fealty and brought war to our Fortress when his demands were undonditionally refused.”
Speaking in Elven, Retassal says, “Not long after such actions, a group of scholars from our sister city Ta’Illistim were sent to your town to aid as a measure of good faith.”
Speaking in Elven, Retassal says, “They were murdered while being held in captivity by authorities in your town.”

The Legionnaires who were fickle and false, Yinh and Yangh, have not been seen in some time, although I could certainly demand more recompense from them than the light penalty they paid. And of course, I shall bring this before the Town Council immediately so we may reach an accord on it.”
Speaking in Elven, Lylia says, “It was a savage act, as savage and unnecessary as the death of Chesylcha in its way. I agree that you have waited too long to see recompense.”
