Only The Light: Chaston’s Declaration

Only the Light: The Prelate Chaston issues a declaration that the Emperor is under the control of a Luukos cult. So – it’s going to be a long war. This week’s Chaston-spin is bigger than last. Who’s starting the pool on the Prelate’s life expectancy after reading this?

In the first light of the morning dawn, with the backdrop of the rebuilding Fairport behind him, Prelate Chaston made a public announcement in response to the recent rebuke issued by Emperor Aurmont Anodheles from the Sun Throne.

Gathered before a crowd of devoted citizens of all ages, Chaston declared:

“We know now, with certainty, that the whispered rumors of the Cult of Luukos holding sway over many powerful leaders in the Turamzzyrian Empire must assuredly be true. There is no greater example of this than the bold admonition spewed forth from the mouth of Emperor Aurmont, the chief heretic of them all. It has been under his rule that the denizens of darkness have grown tremendously, even leaving the shadows to find comfort and protection in the countless Temples of Lornon scattered all around the Empire and at the heart of its capitol.”

“This is the ruin I have warned you of. This is the corruption I have spoken out against. We have allowed the bloodline of humans to be perverted by the defect of elves and krolvin, and we have allowed our hearts to be led astray by shadowy false gods. But, the deceit does not end there. I would argue that this depravity that has taken root in every corner of our Empire, has also been urged along due to the failure to recognize the one, true light that should guide us.”

“Many bend knee to the masters of Lornon, but so too have many found false idols in the worship of Liabo as well. Oh, how many will argue that the God-King rules over both, and that worshipping Luukos, or Lorminstra, indirectly finds favor with Koar. I am here to tell you, as the God-King has impressed upon me this morning, that that lie is the greatest deception of our history. There is no equal to the God-King. There is no other deserving of your praise and devotion than the God-King.”

“Only the light of Koar shall be praised. Only the light of Koar shall be revered above all, Liabo or Lornon. Only the light of Koar shall be recognized as the true guiding force of this Empire, and this world. Only the light of Koar shall be tolerated, and all others must turn their hearts to the truth of the God-King, or perish in the wake of his fiery wrath.”

“We have heard the Emperor reject the Light of Koar. It pains me to hear that the Patriarch of the Old Church has done the same. Now is the time of our ascension, to rise up from the weeds that have held down the light of Koar for too long, and dispatch justice to every corner and hall of the Empire.”

“Only the light of Koar can save you. Anything but the light of Koar will damn you. Rise up, brothers and sisters of faith, let us bring the light of the God-King to the world.”

The Prelate’s announcement left the entire gathering in a frenzy of song and praise, and Chaston soon boarded a ship out of the docks. The crowd declared their devotion as the Prelate prepared to depart, many others begging to join him on his crusader. Rumors indicate that the ship was destined to travel soon to Wehnimer’s Landing and arrive in the coming days.
