Hussf of Trauntor leaves an apology for stirring up the creatures on Glatoph to harrass the town. But he planned another adventure on Friday night that we hope went well!

Battlerager Hussf of Trauntor, with his weapons ‘Vindicator’ and ‘Tenderizer’ protruding from his harness, was seen today hammering in a notice at the North, East, South and West Gats of Icemule Trace.

A Call To Arms!

I, Hussf of Trauntor, offer a call to any brave souls who dare take part in a Final Raid against my mortal enemies and those who would oppose the West who dwell on the Glatoph. Twenty years ago and much earlier in my training, I was ambushed on my way to the newly discovered Icemule Trace. Frost Giants and Arctic Titans took an arm, a leg and left me for dead. Only my trustworthy Vindicator lay with me in my deeply frozen state.

We must root out their lairs on the Glatoph and not let a single one survive. No longer will they challenge Wehnimer’s Landing or Icemule Trace. All who are ready, willing and able to meet the dangers are implored to fight on this crew. I hope that we will bond in battle and begin an alliance with a ferocious reputation.

I hope to engage as soon as possible but perhaps we shall grow our numbers in the next couple days, feel out our enemies and gain further intelligence. The time has come. The honorable and brave of the West shall prevail! Contact me in Wehnimer’s Landing or Icemule Trace immediately to join this crew.

*Hussf pins an update under the Raid notice*

I am planning to form a preliminary raid party to create havoc around the Frost Giants’ environs on the Glatoph this evening, Volnes, at Eight Elven Time. Wehnimer’s Landing party will meet at the North Gate of Wehnimer’s. Icemule party members may opt to meet at Wehnimer’s North Gate as well or on the Icemule side of the Chasm, on the Icemule Trail. I will do my best to obtain a focused mission from the local guild. I hope to see you, brave venturers!

The preliminary raids on the Glatoph last night, Volnes, were a success! The unit consisting of myself, Grutak, Haileus, Waq, Serendepity, and Abilene. We located and eliminated an Arctic Titan major and a plethora of its minions, titan and giant alike. We are dwindling their numbers and gaining intel on the icy conditions, population concentrations and their leadership. We shall wage another raid this evening, Tilamaires, around Eight in the evening Elven time. We shall meet again inside the North Gate of Wehnimer’s Landing. All are welcome, especially brave souls who are up to the challenge. Victory and Vindication to us!

A couple of young urchins scurry to post flyers that are obvious duplications on all town gates

To the people of Mayor Lylia, Wehnimer’s Landing and the honorable, intelligent beings of its surrounds:

I accept full responsibility for triggering the retaliation of the wretched beings on the Glatoph onto Wehnimer’s Landing two evenings ago. By my best accounts, this event caused the deaths of at least forty brave souls. I trust that Lorminstra sent these honorable spirits back to their hosts to resume their lives in respective normality. That being said, we must not be deterred. The curse of the Glatoph will continue to threaten all people who travel to and fro Wehnimer’s and Icemule unless stopped once and for all. I ask the town of Wehnimer’s Landing and its Allies to raise its guard while courageous fieldpersons continue to raid the wretched hive of Frost at its source.

I will form with the bravest, this evening of Day of The Huntress, on the near witching hour of Midnight as the sound of bells strike Elven ears, at the North Gate. We will obtain discreet mission orders and formulate both defensive and frontline plans.

Thank you in solidarity,
Hussf of Trauntor

OOC: Oh, now that makes sense. The attack and all.

I thought their ‘Hussf’ chant was like a Spartan/300 war chant, lol.

OOC: Hahah! It seems like everyone’s reverse engineering my inside joke from 1995! Hussf was my first and only character when I started on AOL. I played for about a couple years and then a ten year break. Anyway, as a 14 year-old goofball, I created Hussf out of a silly pro-wrestler that my friends and I got a kick out of. He went by the name of “The Viking” or later “The Berserker.” HUSSF! HUSSF! HUSSF! (please excuse the juvenile nature of the video you’re about to watch)

[Flashfeet’s, Traveller’s Togs]
A row of wooden pegs lines one oak-paneled wall, displaying thick, colorful caps and scarves. The remaining three walls are covered in rich tapestries suspended from thick mithril rods that hang from the ceiling and embroidered with scenes of local wildlife. The floor is covered with a lush, white rug made to resemble snow. A long, glass case that holds a variety of mittens and gloves occupies one corner of the shop. A young sylvan apprentice tidies the shawls on a nearby wooden rack. You also see a small sign.
Obvious exits: east, west

Welcome to Flashfeet’s Traveller’s Togs!

A young apprentice offers his catalog to Hussf to browse.
A young apprentice exclaims to Hussf, “Greetings stranger, have a look around!”

Hussf replies, “Thank you, kindly”, and peruses the catalog of head and handwear. Hussf gets the attention of the diligent young apprentice again and requests, “May I please order your thick polar bear fur hat and black buckskin gloves? Both in large, please. Also, I would take your wool scarf over there as well if we could do without the saffron. Perhaps the management would consider stocking some alternatives?”

The apprentice replies, “Yes of course, sir. I will make a note of this. Here is your order. Would you like anything else?”
Hussf answers, “Negative, that will do for today.” Hussf, hands a small sack of silvers to the apprentice and leaves the shop.”

Hussf strides purposely towards Clovertooth Hall while taking in the sights of Icemule Trace. It has been over twenty years since he head off to discover this town with his own eyes. Now finally he has arrived and with some purpose. Hussf makes his way outside Mayor Tawariell’s office and slips an envelope under her door.

Flashback to two hours previously in Thrak’s Inn, Trophy Room, Wehnimer’s Landing

Hussf sits at the table, a half-consumed tall glass of amber ale, writing a letter with the look of purpose.

To Mayor Tawariell,

I am Hussf of Trauntor and citizen of your neighboring town Wehnimer’s Landing. I bring a brief battle report from late yesterday evening, Day of the Huntress. A very sizable battalion led by myself and later, Lord Chamorr, engaged with mainly powerful Frost Giant and Ice Elemental scum. Though my party was almost completely wiped out, we managed to regroup within your town’s Center and were victorious in our second and final round. We drove them off but they indicated that they would be return. I fear that my raids on the Glatoph have roused the attention of the Giants, Titans and all of their allies also on the Trail between our two great and noble towns.

I request we meet at your earlier convenience to confer on what to do next. My intention is to destroy and melt them all, but I must consider the consequences to both our towns. I look forward to meeting with you at our earliest convenience.

-Hussf

Tawariell wanders into her cabin, eager to take a break from the tediousness of cobbling. She wipes her chalk-smeared hands on her apron and undoes the bow, hanging the garment on nearby peg. Seemingly as soon as she’s done this, ready to be settled, Cellera hands her a stack of envelopes. The half-Sylvan gazes heavenwards and rubs her temple a moment but submits to business and plops into a plush brown suede armchair, thumbing through the letters. Most she ignores- inconsequential matters that could be handled later. She comes across Hussf’s letter and opens it, reading carefully.
Folding the letter, Tawariell moves to the table where she sits again and picks up her quill. She selects a sheet of crisp ivory parchment and begins to write in careful script, sharp black ink contrasting the white of the paper…

To Hussf of Trauntor,

Though I was only recently made aware of the Glatoph’s creatures making themselves more intimately known to the people of Wehnimer’s Landing, we are all too familiar here in Icemule with the frozen inhabitants between our two towns and the surrounding lands. I look forward to meeting with you to discuss your endeavors and the situation at hand. Would this coming Feastday at eight o’clock as the elves tell time be suitable to you?

– Tawariell Andrenae, Mayor of Icemule Trace

She fans the parchment, giving the ink a chance to dry and puts her quill back in its holder. The missive is folded and put into a cream-hued envelope and sealed with silvery wax bearing the stamp of an unfurling iceblossom. Tawariell hands the letter to Cellera and nods slowly, “This one is to be delivered quickly, as I’ve delayed response since this whole mess with Ta’Vaalor.” Cellera nods understandingly and enswathes herself in her cloak, folding it around her before heading out the door to find Hussf.

tell kobold to squish bug

The kobold stares at the bug, and after a brief moment of drooling… it squishes the bug!
