Subj: Icemule Trace Mayoral Race!

Since the glorious vaporization and alleged death of Nihala Winterberry several moons ago (my condolences, I swear!), the time has come to announce a Player Mayor Race for our beloved little town of Icemule Trace!

Activities and festivities will take place for the next four to five weeks, depending on interest. Here are the deets! You’ll also find a sign in Town Center telling you which phase of the election is currently active and a schedule of events. I’ll keep everything posted both in the Icemule folder and on that sign to keep the most people informed.

Who is eligible to run for Mayor?
* Any profession, level, class, race, and culture who has been a citizen of IMT for 12+ months consecutively as of the date of this posting (18 Ivastaen / Friday, May 18)
* Anyone who does NOT currently serve on ICICLE; ICICLE will be involved in many other ways

What do I have to do to apply for candidacy?
* Send an email to GS4-NECIOS@PLAY.NET by 25 Ivastaen (Friday, May 25) at midnight
* Include your account name and your character name (just the one who will run)
* Include a paragraph or statement of purpose (suggestions: your vision of the town with you as Mayor, how you will work with ICICLE/CHEs/MHOs, how you will “deal” with the Queen); this paragraph will be published on the forums and broadcast in other ways during your campaign)

How do I campaign?
* After I verify your eligibility to run, I will give you your campaign materials
1) buttons (or pinworn synonym) with a slogan YOU create on a TAP description (no SHOW)
2) 3 banners (or synonym) with a slogan YOU create on a TAP description (no SHOW), 1 of which can be placed somewhere in town EXCEPT TC and 2 of which can be placed at the gates of your choosing
3) 1 crier message YOU create that will shout in the streets announcing how perfect you are for Mayor (no inside rooms)
4) SPREAD THE WORD!
* This will all take place from 28 Ivastaen – 10 Lumnea (Monday, May 28 – Sunday, June 10; at this point criers will be fired, but banners and buttons will remain)
* All campaign items must pass QC

What’s the deal with the “competitions” that Igerone announced?
* We will have debates between candidates that will not be scored so that the public may be more informed about your policies and stances. But we will add our own fun twist: there will be four competitions! More details will be provided closer to the events themselves, but they are
1) Fists of Justice
2) Just Desserts
3) Icy Elegance
4) [Secret]
* The winner of each contest receives 5 extra votes toward the final tally, and the one who achieves second place receives 2 extra votes
* If contests are judged, judges will be chosen by spinner from the crowd to ensure fairness
* We will do our absolute best to ensure all candidates can compete simultaneously if possible, or to provide fair alternatives should scheduling conflicts arise
* This portion of the month-long event will take place tentatively from 11 – 14 Lumnea (Monday, June 11 – Thursday, June 14)

When will people actually vote, and who can vote?
* Only IMT citizens can vote
* The voting booths will be hauled into town and open from 15 – 20 Lumnea (Friday, June 15 – Wednesday, June 20)

When will the winner be announced?
* The winner will be announced by Igerone at a formal gala hosted by ICICLE and co-hosted by White Haven tentatively on 22 Lumnea (Friday, June 22), time TBA (big thanks to these upstanding PROs for helping out!)

What kind of responsibility comes with being Mayor?
* This is a roleplay opportunity
* The amount of responsibility and the time you invest is up to you
* If you’re a terrible Mayor, the people will want you out, but you are not required to spend a certain amount of time per day in the game or anything

Can I get rid of Deputy Mayor Hibbits?
* No! 😛 He’s part of the Dawn of Daukhera storyline and he’s here to stay until I decide to say bye bye to him

Are there any perks that come with being Mayor?
* Repainting the Mayor’s office and receiving a key (2 rooms, must pass QC)
* Repainting the Clovertooth Hall conference room (this is a new addition to the building, so you’d get your name on a plaque, must pass QC)
* Power to appoint two of your besties as advisors (must be citizens); other members of your advisory board will be Hibbits and a selected representative from White Haven and the MHOs (plus an open seat for the Queen or her appointee, even if she says doesn’t want it now)
* Structured roleplay and PRO event planning with Mayoral support/resources
* Opportunity to practice diplomacy and build international ties with our neighbors
* More involvement directly with me, the director of Icemule things, in planning what you want to do for the town and how it can relate to the storyline, if you wish
* ENDLESS FAME AND GLORY FROM JUNE 22, 2018 – JUNE 22, 2019
