INTO THE SQUALL: Reports of extreme mana storms have surfaced in the oceans to the far east of Ornath. Warnings and alerts have gone out far and wide with caveats for everyone to be on the watch for anything unusual. The Scribes of Biblia are scouring archives with one branch saying it is entirely meterologic and another insisting it is the by-product of rogue chronomagic. The rest of the information:

Reports have surfaced from both Evashiran storm-scryers and Ornath’s Scribes of Biblia that unusual mana storm activity has been detected in the oceans, especially to the far east of Ornath. Concurrently, other storm activity has been spiking heavily in numerous areas, they report.

The Evashiran sailing vessel, the Intrepid Nethyriar, sent reports far and wide detailing similar unusual behavior as witnessed by their onboard storm-scryers. According to Storm-Scryer Tirestyn, they have noted extreme mana storms in areas previously unaffected by this phenomenon and in one unusual case, a temporary lessening of a far off bank of storms revealed a heretofore unknown landmass far to the east of the Isle of Ornath.

Oceanic, weather, and mana experts alike have expressed concern that this unusual activity, which appears to be increasing, may impact additional areas if it continues.

Coastal areas of Atan Irith and Elanith, as well as island communities, are encouraged to be on high alert for unusual storm activity.

[Vignette] Library of Biblia Abuzz About Storm Activity

Recent reports of unusually powerful storms in the seas east of Ornath have stirred the Scribes of Biblia into a flurry of activity, and sent them scouring their legendary archives for insight into the tempests’ origin and nature. Unfortunately, the famously contentious scholars have thus far been unable to come to a consensus on an explanation, and further, cannot even agree which of the Library’s Arcana would be best suited to resolving the mystery.

The Scribes of the Aerologium, the Arcanum devoted to the study of weather, insist that the storms are purely meteorological in origin, while the Chronurgium, the Arcanum dedicated to the study of teleportation magic, fervently argues that they are the by-products of rogue chronomagic.

A lone Scribe from the Lost Codex, the Arcanum devoted to the rediscovery of forgotten knowledge, has been raising eyebrows with her assertion of an altogether different cause of these storms — the return of contact with long-forgotten lands to the east.

The people of these lands were known to be the purveyors of powerful weather-related magic in ancient times, powerful enough to summon and even wield storms such as these, but their existence has escaped all written record, and is openly derided by many of the Library’s most senior Scribes.

Nonetheless, numerous Scribes suspect there is some truth to this theory, as the Library’s Ephus has been witnessed in conclave with their official representative from the Chronomages, engaged in some reportedly quite animated discussions, the contents of which have been protected from scrying or even run-of-the-mill eavesdropping.

Whatever their cause, the storms are only growing in strength and frequency, and, by all accounts, their progenitor will make themselves known one way or another.
