VAALOR TOURNAMENT INTERVIEW
Speaking to Anarquendi, Leifa asks, “Now that you’ve won the tournament, how does it feel?”
Leifa smiles patiently at Anarquendi, quill at the ready, taking excellent notes.
Anarquendi ponders.
Speaking to Leifa, Anarquendi says, “Odd. Don’t misunderstand me, I appreciate the praise and being granted an officially recognized title.”
Leifa nods slowly.
Speaking surprisedly to Leifa, Anarquendi says, “In fact, part of my whole persona is that I’m not seen.”
Anarquendi chuckles to himself.
Speaking to Anarquendi, Leifa inquires, “Now that you are ‘seen’, do you intend to continue to master arenas around the lands?”
Speaking to Leifa, Anarquendi says, “But being stood up in front of a crowd, outside of combat, is… a little embarrassing.”
Speaking to Anarquendi, Leifa asks, “And what advice would you give other arena competitors who battle in the future?”
Leifa adds, “Last question, I promise.”
Speaking flatly to Leifa, Anarquendi says, “Avoid facing Aureliano. Or Leafiara. And probably Yakushi. And Melivn.”
Anarquendi ponders.
Anarquendi points at Leafiara.
Leafiara adds, “And Roblar…”
Anarquendi says, “Realistically, just hide.”
Anarquendi says, “Hiding will rarely fail you. Until it does. Then it fails spectacularly.”
Leafiara says, “Victories are the convergence of an incredible amount of skill, an incredible amount of preparation, an incredible amount of training, and–well, a non-zero amount of luck, at least.”
GLOBAL TOURNAMENT CITIZEN INTERVIEW:
Leifa says, “Hello! Thank you for taking a moment to speak with me.”
Raythiel says, “My pleasure, thanks for recording this.”
Raythiel says, “After all, this is a festival of remembrance.”
Speaking to Raythiel, Leifa asks, “So, now that you’ve won the tournament, how does it feel?”
Leifa smiles patiently waiting for Raythiel to answer, poised with her quill to take detailed notes.
Raythiel ponders.
Raythiel says, “I think it is bittersweet, I am happy that I participated and won, but also I feel it could have easily gone differently.”
Leifa ponders the meaning of Raythiel’s existence.
Speaking to Raythiel, Leifa inquires, “How so?”
Raythiel says, “Not to discredit my competitors, it was very dangerous.”
Leifa nods understandingly.
Raythiel says, “I had a great time both participating and watching.”
Speaking to Raythiel, Leifa asks, “And now that you’ve won this tourney, do you intend to enter others across the realm?”
Raythiel says, “Oh I have sparred with others quite a few times and lost my fair share.”
Raythiel says, “It is something that I enjoy and will continue to enter these tournaments as I am available.”
Raythiel says, “I was around when we did this on the boulder all those years ago.”
Leifa exclaims, “Those were great times, back in the day!”
Raythiel says, “Rules could be negotiated.”
Raythiel says, “Which made things interesting.”
Speaking to Raythiel, Leifa inquires, “So what advice would you give fellow
adventurers who want to try their hand in arena combat?”
Raythiel says, “Practice and a cool head under pressure.”
Raythiel says, “Entering with a plan for success.”
Leifa gives an approval gesture with her hand.
Leifa exclaims, “Great advice!”
OPEN TOURNAMENT INTERVIEW:
Speaking to Aureliano, Leifa inquires, “High Legionnaire, for the Towncrier news, can you answer a few questions before you run off?”
Aureliano says, “Certainly.”
Aureliano nods to Leifa.
Speaking to Aureliano, Leifa asks, “Now that you’ve won, how does it feel?”
Speaking proudly to Leifa, Aureliano says, “I could not feel more honored to return the title to our House after many festivals where we could not capture it.”
Speaking to Leifa, Qalinor says, “I, myself, am glowing with pride for him, and I did not even fight.”
Leifa beams happily at Qalinor!
Leifa smiles and continues to take notes, highlighting the King Qalinor’s words.
Speaking to Aureliano, Leifa continues, “And what is this ….the 3rd win? 4th?”
Aureliano shakes his head.
Speaking politely to Leifa, Aureliano corrects, “I had not yet won at one of these festivals until tonight.”
Speaking to Aureliano, Leifa gushes, “How exciting then!”
Aureliano nods in agreement to Leifa.
Speaking to Aureliano, Leifa inquires, “And what advice would you give your fellow arena fighters?”
Aureliano ponders.
Speaking respectfully to Leifa, Aureliano says, “Perseverance. In training, in battle.”
