ANNOUNCEMENT: GM Apraxis has turned on the new GM Crafted Feeder items. The new categories of feeders announced some time ago are not live yet, though. Since there are too many existing items in the feeders, though, they’re turning on FEEDER FRENZY from now until around noon on August 9th, and this time the frenzy is going to be lots more frenzied than the last one, a 50 times boost to the rate! That’s 50 times, not 50%. All the Details:

First off, let me start by apologizing for the delay on these. After we announced, there were a couple of unexpected schedule conflicts among those of us involved, that were just short enough to not look into transferring the effort to somebody else, but just long enough to make a bit of a delay.
The new GM Crafted Feeder Items system is now live in all instances. However, we haven’t turned on the Alter fodder, Rare, and Epic feeders quite yet (they exist! just not turned on). We want to make sure we watch the system a bit and then turn them on one by one as we know no wires got crossed. You’ll get clear announcements once those go live.
However, we find ourselves with a new “problem” in that there are far too many items in the remaining feeders. So to solve this “problem” we’re going to turn on frenzy rates from now until Simucon (It will end sometime Around Noon on the 9th depending on when I get around to actually turning it off).
We’re aware that the last frenzy wasn’t quite frenzied enough. There were a couple reasons for this. Long story short though, players were not seeing the rates that were intended. This should be very different compared to the last one.
In Prime, We are planning on turning the feeder rate up to 50 times the intended rate long term to bleed off some extras (consider it a make up frenzy). Additionally, there will now be a clear notification you’ll receive when you find a special item. For this tier, it is only sent to the player, but there should no longer be any guess about what came from the feeder versus the random object generator.
Platinum, and Shattered will be getting set to 100 times the normal rate.
Now, fair warning – one of the advantages of the updates is that we can turn on frenzies on an individual tier level. This means that the legendary feeder will not be getting turned up. Don’t expect to see twice a day legendary drops! This only applies to the old non-legendary item feeders. Also as the new feeders come online, don’t expect them to be at this rate. We may give a little extra to ensure the pipes have been properly kicked, but this is much more about ensuring the old items get into loving homes.
From the Q&A:
* The two that are currently running have no level restrictions.
* [The special essage is] When it drops. These items always appear in boxes as well
* automatic marking should still be in effect
* Bold yes. These feeders use the normal chests, the other ones will have special chests (but not quite as special as the legendary feeder)
* Boosts dont affect feeders
* [The feeder contains] whatever GMs make, clothing is definitely a large part of it.
