Two Drives Crashed, Logins Affected, But Not the Games

ANNOUNCEMENT: PM Wyrom announced the failure of two drives in the wee hours of Thursday morning. While logins are working again, they are still fixing things and there are times it might get rocky. Game is working fine, once you get to it. He advises careful play, not to leave stuff on the ground, and reminds everyone to MARK and REGISTER anything important, including the container said important thing/s get stored in. Full Details:

Multiple Drive Failures

Hey everyone, we had multiple drives fail around 1am ET on August 3rd. We’ve been working on it for the last 3 hours, but it’s looking like we will be down for the rest of the night and into the morning while we rebuild the drives and get things back up and running. If you’re currently logged in, you will be able to stay in, but access to the game and website are down until we can fix this. My recommendation is to log out, as most staff can’t get into the game either to help should anything go wrong.

Just an update everyone. While you can login right now, we’re still working on this. Two of our drives failed last night. They’ve rebuilt them and that’s why you can login right now, but it’s in a degraded state. The games haven’t crashed, the game servers are fine, it was the login server and billing db that took the hit, which is why you couldn’t get into the game but those in could still play. There is no ETA yet on when this will be fully resolved. We might have more downtime over the next few days. We will also have another day where they finish the move to the new office site. Some areas of the website may not work properly for a little bit longer, such as character creation.

Please play carefully, be especially diligent with leaving things on the ground (even though you should always do this). Your most prized possessions should be registered. My plan was to offer a new GIFTBOX and EVENT BOX combo tomorrow, but I’m going to assess the plan and make another announcement about this.
